We will be having a dance contest this coming December 15, 2007 Saturday on our company christmas party. Part of the party or the highlight of the party is a modern dance contest and theres one contestant for every floor, we belong to the second floor and we have been practicing our dance medley for two weeks now and we have more or less mastered our steps. But one horrible news struck me yesterday, the first floor team practiced the other day and my team mates said we have two similar songs in our medley. WOW! i felt a hint discouragement in the air and how come out of thousands of songs around why on earth do we have the same two songs. I know they have heard our music and why try to have the same? I dont know whats their motive but its really discouraging, we have requested the to change their music but it seems they have no plans to do so. What shall we do? Hope you can help us mylotters! Thank you and happy mylotting!

Hello Zelmarq. I think that it is more challenging to dance to the same song. In fact, there is no need to worry about dancing to the same song because what is more valued about is your perfect dancing skill that will be judged the the judges. Do you think so? I hope that you will win the dance contest that day. Good luck to you all, dear friend.

Well, i hope we have mastered our dancing skills and the two weeks of practice would be enough, we are not really dancers but can dance when taught by someone. Thank you for the comfort, what comes to mind is no longer winning but giving my best on that day. What if we have the same steps and dance moves, then thats the real problem of all. I jsut hope we could think of something cool and unique for our outfit for that day.

Hi Zelmarq! That is frustrating somehow but don't be discouraged. Surely you can be ahead with those copycats by ensuring that your groupmates will have a more beautiful dance steps or choreography and beautiful costumes. Don't be easily dishearteneed, remember it is how you will perform that will really matter. Good luck and have a beautiful day. :) Merry Christmas!

We have tried to add another song in our dance and we the other team changed the two songs and we are just glad about it and have tried our best to give our best dance. Though I know that there will be more people who will perform better than us but we will just do our part in making it the best that we can do.

Desperate times need desperate measures and so they say, But that is not a doomsday scenario. Believe in ones self as a group or individual comes strength, a single stick easily breaks but a bundle tightly woven together can't be broken easily. A clean concience sweeps away all the troubles of life. Have faith in God and surfs up.

Copying is the best form of flattery. I think you should be proud you picked a great song. Just because they used the same song does not mean they are doing the same dance. Even if they do the same dance does not mean they are going to be as good as second floor will be. Good second floor they are the best.

Thank you for the making me feel good here my friend. The first time I heard about the issue, felt sad and disappointed, out of thousands of songs why did they have to get that same two songs. I know they heard our songs when we were praticing and i just dont like their being copy cats.

Can you find another song with the same beat? That way if you keep the same beat you wouldn't have to change the routine. Or just be confident and go out there and shake what your momma gave ya. Think of it as kinda a compliment that they are scarred of the second floors moves and they can't think of anything better to do than to copy you.

Changing the song with the same beat wont be possible my friend. We have been praticing for two weeks now and we have reached the mastery level of our dance. Maybe my only option is to have a positive mind set about the issue. I will just do my very best. We will just do great moves and give the greatest performance of our lives.

oh dear. what songs are those? how come they are so popular? i think you can just go ahead. it's not fair to ask them to change their songs. they could have asked your team to do the same too. go forth and perform and perhaps your dance will far outshine theirs!
