What did you do for your child's 1st Birthday? I know that they will not remember it but I had my daughter a birthday party over the weekend. I rented a little place in town that had lots of stuff for kids to play with. She had a great time. Then on her actual birthday (which was yesterday) we went to Ryan's to eat. I asked them to sing Happy Birthday to her (they did). She was so amazed at the singers. It was a great time.

we took stephanie to the zoo. We didn't have a party or anything cause I heard not to make a big deal out of it and I don't know many other people with kids so we just did that. She seemed to enjoy it. Hopefully next year we can do something else fun and maybe she will have some little friends by then.

That sounds like fun. I would love to be able to take my daughter to outside places for her birthday but it's normally cold in December. I know a lot of people with kids but they are older than my daughter. I started later than everyone else. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.

Hi! My only son's first birthday was a very long time ago.But I still vividly remember the celebrations we had. From my side he is the first grand child so we celebrated it at my parents place. My whole family was there all my sister's and brother and a few friends. We never had a kid's party or anything like that.Just the elders with cake cutting and that was followed by a feast for all.

First off, happy birthday to your daughter! :) For both of my kids first birthday, we had birthday parties at home with family (grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc). It was nice both times. :)

I just hope you got pictures and/or videos, so when they grow up she can see them, and that's a good way to remember! For us we did that, plus invited friends and relatives of their age, and to this day we look back at those pictures and remember! And wish her a Happy Birthday from me too! !

We didn't go all out for my daughter's 1st birthday, i didn't see a point, as you mentioned, they wont remember it but they also cant always take in too much! My daughter had a great birthday but we just had cake, food & balloons at my Mum's house, there were a few people there but not many. She had Happy Birthday sung to her & lots of photos taken but in all honesty, she was more interested in the wrapping paper & the food :) I think parents can sometimes go overboard but it's for each parent to decide what they'll do for their child's birthday! I think that as long as the child enjoys the day & you get lots of happy snaps, then it's a job well done!
