Did you go before your due date?

Im just wondering how many mothers on here has went before their due date. The doctors told me that i was due January 8th. And on wed. they told me i was already dilated to 4 and they didnt think i would make it til the end of the month. So how many of you went early? Late? And was it your first child? This is my first child, and i am getting so anxious!

My first baby was born on his due date, the other 5 boys were born early. With my hospital you are admitted to the hospital at 4cm.

Thanks for your comment bethyboo! That sounds like what my doctor told me. When I was I think 34 weeks I was already dilated to 4. And the doctor said it would be soon. And then he said it would be before the end of the month. It’s the 24th now and I still havent had the baby. Im just getting very impatient waiting.
Thanks for your comment kellys3ps. I cant believe they put you in the hospital when your at 4cm. I have been at 4cm for at least 3 weeks now. Right now im at a 5. That was as of Friday. But I think it will be any day now. I feel more and more miserable as each day passes.

My first child I was due Sept 9th, I had her september 13. With my second I was due March 11, I had her March 16th. With my third I was due July 24th, I was induced July 28th because I started to get preeclampsia. Who knows how long the little bugger would have stayed in there if they hadn't made him come out. lol. Don't be anxious, you'll do fine. And once its over with you'll be surprised how quickly you forget.

Thanks for your comment. Im just getting a little nervous with this being my first one. I know my husband and everyone else keeps telling me i'll be fine. I know all the pain will be worth it when i get to hold that little bundle of joy in my arms for the first time. =) Is it hard managing to keep up with 3 little ones?

Yes. My dute dat was June 14th and I was induced on the 8th because my blood pressure was high. I was already dilated 2 cm when the doc made that decision. I ended up having to have a csection though cause the baby changed positions. I really didn't want to have a csection but everything turned out fine. This was my first baby.

Thank you both for your responses. I even asked the doctor if there was a chance i could go early with it being my first child. And they said normally with your first you go late. But i have heard from a lot of people that they went early with the first.

My due date for my first child was Sept 19th and he was born on Sept 1st (normal).
I assumed my second one would be out early, but he hung on till full term and on my due date, the scan showed that there was a problem and I had an emergency C-section!
I was tired carrying all that weight the second time around....and everyday I had relatives and friends calling or dropping in to find out if I had the baby.....ultimately, he was born on his due date.
Both my mother's deliveries were on the due date (though I've heard this is rare).

My doctor told me at 36 weeks that I could go into labor any day. I waited and waited and at 39 weeks I was beginning to wonder if I was ever going to go into labor. I was due on November 4th. We scheduled for me to be induced on November 5th. My firstborn was born on November 3rd. So you never really know when that sweet little baby is going to show up and all you can do is wait and see.

Thanks for your comment tiffiny! I was really hoping that I wouldn’t make it to my due date. My brother and sister in law will be in and I was hoping they would get to see the baby.
