Unbeaten league record smashed by Reading

Coming into the weekend, both Liverpool and Arsenal are the only team left without defeat in the league but both teams suffered shock loss against unfancied opponents. I am being realistic and I did not expect Liverpool to go throughout the season unbeaten but to lost the proud record to a team like Reading by 1-3 is surely disappointing. Liverpool were not playing like usual and get penalized for their lackslustre display by goals from Stephen Hunt, Kevin Doyle and James Harper while the Reds consolation goal came from team captain Steven Gerrard. And to think that we will play our arch-rival Manchester United next weekend in the league, this defeat is not good for morale of the players.

Last week I was sure that liverpool can beat Reading at weekend, but the reality saw another, I just say that's the game sometimes we win or lose. But I believe in morality of the players will be gone, we hope more to Mr. Rafa will show us his capability to be great tactician for liverpool, when they won on Besiktas with big score 8-0 or on Porto 4-1.

Watching the match, I did think that Liverpool were at the rough end of some of the refreeing decisions. I think there was a case of a penalty at 1-1 for Liverpool. Then again a couple of other decisions simply seemed to go the way of Reading. But, having said so, shipping in three goals is a disastrous return for the Liverpool defense. Also, as you rightly pointed out the fluency was missing from their game. Cheers! Ram

That was absolutely disapponting specially for Liverpool, their previous record in this season wasn't great also because they drew with underdogs of mid table. But on the other hand Arsenal is still onthe top inspite of this defeat. I am hopeful about Liverpool that they will play well in the next games after this shocking defeat otherwise it will be almost impossible to compete for the title.
