whats these levels all about

Ok so I know I have not been mylotting the last few days. Been extremely busy with getting ready for christmas. So I came on here today and noticed these level thing in orange, Like pets level 2, relationships level 9, what is this all about? what do the levels do and what are they for? anyknow?

They are interest rankings, the latest addition to the myLot program. The interests page was also rearranged for better ease of use.
I only found out about it today as well, but I remember reading the Alert that came up it says it gauges ones knowledge in an area of interest. It suggested making quality posts under one interest to get a rating.
