put them on lay-away or pay for them right when you get them? How long do you wait till you pick them up if you put them on lay-away?My boyfriend doesnt like "lay-away"and thinks i should get them right away when i find the gifts, instead of putting them "on the side".Oh well!:)

I would rather just buy them. I have never used lay away. Usually I set aside so much for christmas presents for my kids. Then we go on a saturday and get everything for them. Also I would have to drive an hour each way to pay for things I had on lay away. Once it was payed Id have to drive another hour each way to pick it up. So I just buy what I want when I see it.

I do both. I have 2 small layaways in right now for the kids. It's easier to budget out a small payment. I keep them in layaway for a month or two. On the other hand, I buy a lot of stuff with cash as well. This is why my closet is full of gifts. I am doing my best to wrap everything that I already have here before I get my layaways out and have to wrap that stuff too. I also have more gifts up in a closet at my mom's house in Mississippi. I left the stuff that I bought while I was there, because I would just have to bring it all right back again at Christmas!

We used to always use lay-away. Since Wal-mart stopped offering the service this year. We have just been trying to buy a few things each week as we can afford them.

Years ago I used to put my Christmas gifts on lay away but now that I do most of my shopping online there's no need for it.

Hi,i would like to shop online, never had but it would be easier for me and less time consuming than running around in every store trying to find the perfect gift for someone.I think im too scared of being scammed or identity(card) theft.:( Peanutjar:)

I pay for them with cash and I take them home with me right then. I have never purchased anything by lay away. Not for any peticular reason, I just haven't done it. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. If that is the way you want to do it, then no bother to your boyfriend. You just do what you want to do. That is what the freedom of choice means and don't let him take that away from you.

Hi,usually i pay right then, but sometimes i see something for someone, dont have the cash on me or my bank debit card, its the only one left and i put it on the side to get the next day, haha. It is better to by it right then because its over and done with,no need to go back.My boyfriend is soooo shy with almost everything in life, especially second hand stores,he hates it when i go there.I think hes too proud of himself, haha.Oh well what he doesnt know will not hurt him, hehe! Peanutjar:)Have a nice day:)

I do like lay-away but I dont use it mainly because if you dont make the ayments or pay it off completely by a certain time you loose all that money and the gifts at the same time. The way I look at it is if I cant buy it right there and then, then what makes me think I can afford the payments for lay-away.
