Many years ago when Mother Teresa first visited US, she commented that the depth of poverty in Calcutta did not gave the depth of the spiritual poverty in US. I am passing by many gray creatures on the street every day. Only few people have good Aura and seldom seen people with luminous energy field around the body. How is your spiritual connection fitting in the world of materialism, greed and consumerism? Do you have unified sense of body, mind and spirit? Is your Crown Chakra in balance? What do you do to keep your Aura in balance?

Me on a very windy day! - On the beach. It was very windy, but still nice.
Hello there. It is a long time since I have visited this site, and was pleased to find out that you seem to be keeping well! I have always admired Mother Theresa. She should have been made a saint while still alive. Anyway, I am busy doing an internet course the "blessing way", which I am really enjoying. Sometimes it is difficult to bless certain people, but then again, I know I am not nor will I ever be a Mother Theresa. I try to maintain a peaceful life, which is sometimes difficult living in such a big family, although I think I have managed not to badly during this 'test'. I have been told I am very patient, and while I love to be around interesting people I also have a strong need for alone time. I am posting a picture that was taken in in August this year while on holiday. Can you see my aura. I would be interested to know, even if it is not positive. Or am I asking too much. Look forward to hearing from you.

It is not possible to see aura on picture (at least on normal picture). I still can read a lot. Easy to say that you are pretty and everyone can see it. I can tell you more later on PM. Nice to see you here..:)

I am a Zen practitioner and my view is that we need to have a sense of balance. As physical beings, we need physical things like food, water and whatever other things to meet the commitments we make in life. To create balance, every day I use focus on the moment of now, the only reality - the rest is but a dream really, but seeing that I am dreaming is not always easy - but that is the challenge of the life of a physical being - to incorporate his/her spiritual existence. Materialism alone will not do, and to create pain for ourselves by renouncing all material possessions, may well shorten our existence, cutting the opportunity to learn how to integrate, mind, body and soul, short. But there's a paradox. Who knows how long we are here for anyway? And right/wrong cannot really be measured by our finite mind. However, one of my disciplines is to not judge the beliefs of others, but simply share "my Zen" with those who are willing to listen and adapt it to their personal life. I feel that this discussion is deeper than it appears and there is lots more that can be communicated about it.. :-)

Derek, I new who can respond to my discussion. I can see people's Aura, but I don't judge others by Aura. There is always a reason to place people into imbalance. What matters is the claiming of wholeness of self.... I think not many understand the need for Zen practitioners like yourself...

I don't know much about chakra or aura so I can't respond within this area. I only believe that everyone in the universe lives under the same law. Some may call it one comes around goes around, others may call it wheel of fortune. but everything exists will come to an end, because only then there will be new beginning. the cycle doesn't start or end at the same time for every living being, this is why some people die before others at the same age, or after. some people win lottery get rich at young age and the rest could play lottery their whole lives not winning a single penny. some people have to completely detach themselves from the material world, to achieve spiritual balance, while the rest will run their business for profit and still keep in touch with spiritual life in the weekends. I live my life knowing that my body could die any time and yet my spirit will go to another start a new, therefore I don't pay high regard on greed, malice and deception. why stain the cycle of life with these? since this is a continuous cycle, what we do now will effect everyone else in the future, including our own flesh and blood.

This is what I am talking about, an infinite awareness that's beyond reason.

For one thing it is exciting, from a collective perspective, that you, the poster of this message is thinking and realizing you are checking into how others are feeling 'their inner self' and unifyng with it. I suppose no matter how precious we hold our spiritual position, no-one else can understand it, adopt it or even change it if we are so reluctant to keeping 'true' to it. I agree that the spiritual poverty measure is much greater in a country such as mine that seems to be confused with religious acquiesence rather than spiritual awareness . . . Our many organized religious factions keep 'chakra balancing' on the side-lines while preaching scripture in the forefront. But what happens when you leave the pew ? Are you still balanced outside of the 'holy walls" ?/? I am . . . "Lord Only Values Effort . . ." L.O.V.E Copyright © 2007 all rights reserved erica hidvegi

First of all I do think there is a need of balance in all areas of our lives. I remember one area from the DVD of The Secret where James Ray is also talking about "balance" for a truly rich, rewarding life. That life was meant to be abundant in all ways. That yes, wealth and abundance is great, but may not always bring an inner joy or peace. At the same token one can be "spiritual" but be sick and broke all the time...It the blending that I think is important. Now I'm aware of the chakras but have to admit never have done any serious or deep meditations to bring my chakras in alignment....would have to read up on this again as it's been years. One the one hand I might be considered a tad materialistic, but my sense of materialism doesn't necessary mean the norm of what everyone else might be after...for instance I couldn't give a rat's assests what the latest fashion is --never have. As long as I have some clothes and shoes and they wear well, fine by me...LOL. My one sense of materialism if you want to call it that basically wraps around "gadgets" but from a practical viewpoint. What I mean there, and I think you can understand this as you and I are both photographers. I'm still puttering around with my still fully functional Nikkormat EL-W camera I got back in 1977, I long for say a Nikon F6 camera and a digital one as well, and hey, while at it, through in a year's supply of film, and darkroom materials...LOL. But to me I see that as practical materialism, since it's something I could really need for my photo work. As far as consmerism, I think I basically answered that...just not very impressed by it all, and as an example, I laugh with the Christmas season when people walk around with that "I have to get this as a gift, I have to get that..and usually the latest "thing" be it an iphone, ipod, etc...when forgetting sometimes the simpler gift one really from the heart is sufficient and more appreciated And oh, yes, I might not be able to "read" auras or see them but I can "sense" how people are. For instance, when walking on the street, I don't think people realize how lots of times how miserable they look. No smile, no warmth. A perfect example of this is one woman I know who, thankfully I don't run into too often. She's the type that wears a perpetual face of pain all the time..whether she really is or not...the type I've never see smile. If you try to cheer her up or say something to be encouraging she'll come back with a negative remark of how that won't work..and guess what? It doesn't...she is the type that simply wants to be miserable...geez..her aura must be black..LOL One thing that has been a bit weird with me...I've met a few people, usually the ones I only comes across only briefly in my life, but they've all told me that the can "sense" that I'm to be a great success in life...mmmm...sure hope so. Even once had a palmist read my palm and said basically the same thing, but I would be a late bloomer I actually get my greatest joy from simple things though...oh, yes wouldn't mind having that dream home, my vintage Jaguar car, travel all over the world, but I can be most content, taking my camera along, take a walk and photograph nature's beauty..to me that is bliss and fills my soul Rambling here and wondering like gee, did I answer you question???? :)

When you see miserable people, I can see their aura. Yes, life meant to be abundant. To be open for all we have to keep Chakras in balance. People don't have to know what Chakra is to open up spiritual connection. Sickness means Chakras imbalance. As far as materialism, tools for work and passion is not materialism. Part of our life is always materialistic. Having it all is not bad. The point is how much we are attached to it. Most artistic people have ability to sense people. All we have to do is trust our instincts. Travel the world doing photography is the best from all. Taking baby steps is good too. Means doing local pictures is as good as when we travel....:)

Hi polachicago! To be honest with you, I really don't know anything about Chakra or if my aura is balanced or not. However, I would really love to know more about it. Anyway, all I can say is I smile a lot. I am basically a happy person and laugh a lot. My husband and I joke at each other a lot each day. I do have so much love to give. But then at the end of the day or even sometimes during the day, I still have my worries inside..mostly because we really don't have enough money to pay al the bills and to support our old parents. I just don't know how me and my husband do it but we still manage to laugh together despite of so many troubles we have. Our nieces and nephews just love to be with us and they laugh a lot when we are all together. There are alot of hugs and I love you's we say to each other. We are aware of how much the children would love to have beautiful presents but they would smile and tell us, "Auntie when we have money, are you going to buy that for us?" And I usually say yes. I guess with them knowing that I have the intentions in giving them the best and that makes them content and happy. Oh, gosh did I say a lot already? haha..I am sorry. Take care and have a nice day! :)
