I've listened to this group's music way back in college. Their guitar riffs are awesome and their double bass drum is phenomenal. I like the song Angel of Death (depicting the WW2 holocaust). Now my qustion is where are they now? Do you have any information? Or a new album perhaps? Thanks.

They're without a doubt still around...I saw them a few months ago with Manson. I expected a bit of a weak audience...but I was delightfully suprised. I've loved Slayer since I was a wee one and this was the second time I've been able to see them live (the first was at Ozzfest a few years ago, but they were mainstage and I was too far away...and there was no pitt) This time, though, they rocked my nonexistant nuts off and had a kickass setlist. They just came out with an album earlier this year (or maybe it was late last year...

I sure envy you, here in the Philippines we could only wish that they come and do a concert tour unlike your location. So we could only listen to their music or watch their concert video thru cds.

Nope, as far as I know they're as strong as ever. They just had an album come out last year, Christ Illusion, and the band has had its original lineup for a while, too. Only the drummer, Dave Lombardo, left for a little while, but came back in. . . .2001, maybe? Not sure, but I know that since around that time he's been a permanent member along with Tom Araya (bass/vocals), Kerry King (guitar), and Jeff Hanneman (guitar).

Nah, man. Paul Bostaph played the drums on everything between Seasons In The Abyss and Christ Illusion. Actually '92 - '02. So... Divine Intervention, Undisputed Attitude (punk rock cover album), Diabolus In Musica, the Eternal Pyre EP, and God Hates Us All. Dave came back and played on Christ Illusion, and Bostaph went on to record Shovel-headed Kill Machine with Exodus. Call it blasphemous if you want, but I prefer Kill Machine to Illusion. Shocking, I know ;)

actually since they're about to record the last album on their contract, tom araya has mentioned the possibility of slayer retiring after the tour for it. i saw a recent pic of him and it was shocking how much he has aged. his hair is starting to turn gray and he's probably about to be 50 years old.
