Gingerbread houses

my son is making gingerbread houses tomorrow at school and decorating them on tuesday and well it got me to thinking i dont think growing up as a family did we ever take part in that and i think starting this year im going to make it a family tradition to do so. how about you do you make gingerbread houses as a family activty or does your child just take part in it at school??

Sadly I have never made a gingerbread house I don't think either of my kids have either. I have seen the gingerbread house kits you can buy at the store but never have. My local Y sponsored a gingerbread making house class but we didn't take it. I think it would be fun to do.

i dont do cook etc from scratch so the gingerbread kit is what ill be buying tomorrow and then we all will decorate it as a family i think the kids will really enjoy it!

I've never made a gingerbread house. I wish I know how,lol It must be nice to do something together with the family during christmas. I would also like to make a tradition similar to that, maybe bake cookies or make ornaments for the christmas tree, as long as I can share the experience with my loved ones ..

My daughter and her son (4 years old) started a new tradition this year making a gingerbread house. What fun!! Your son's teacher sounds very energetic having the class do it as a project! I don't think anybody in my family ever made a gingerbread house, they sure are cute.
