Yes it does. Racism is never going to completely be wiped out on Earth, any more than murder or love or hatred or kindness can be wiped out. There will always be people who feel superior or hate people because of their race. What society feels is acceptable has changed. Racists and racism still exists, but it's not anywhere near as okay. Society frowns more upon racists.

Being of native American heritage I have seen many forms of prejudice in this country. There are too many people (of all races) that think that they are superior to all other people. I think that we should be given blinders so that we cannot see the color of a persons skin or their religion so that we can judge them on what they are themselves, not because of where they came from or what religion they practice (as long as it was not a religion that conducts illegal acts).

Yes, even today racism exists and believe it or not, we are all a part of it to some extent or other and it will continue to be there until there are "races" and people will continue to judge people by the way they look and not by who they actually are. I guess that's because we, humans, are sort of visual creatures and the first few things that we notice about someone is their skin, hair, dress, etc and the more different they are, the more we think of them as "them". I guess it is in our nature to be fearful of people who are different than "us". But I do believe that some of us are more accepting towards our differences than others, "but that is only after we get to know each other".
