Well, I don't know law, but I would guess that legally the father has no right to order a woman either to have or not have an abortion. Now, when it's a situation where the woman wants the child and the man doesn't, the answer for me is easy. Nobody should be able to force someone else to terminate their pregnancy.
It's the scenario where the father is the one who wants the child that's diff... |
| Angelwriter responded to a discussion called Do you hate or love reading? in books. 3 weeks ago
I love reading. I love stories. I'm always looking through Amazon.com or going to Barnes and Noble to see what different books are out there. But, I grew up with a brother who wasn't a reader. He's extremely intelligent and could read from a very early age, but books just aren't his thing, although he's been reading voluntarily more as an adult than he did as a kid or a teenager. So, I know the... |
| Angelwriter responded to a discussion called Children's books in write a book. 2 weeks ago
Well, first you need to write the book. I'd say read some recent children's books that are similar to get an idea of what kinds of books are being written. You should also find out how to get a manuscript ready for publishers. You can find that out online or in writing books. As far as costing a fortune, no, it shouldn't. You shouldn't have to pay anyone to publish your book and I wouldn't deal... |

I was a big Babysitters Club reader. I read the regular series, the super specials, the mysteries, even the spin off with one of the club member's little sister. Even got my brother to read a couple. |
| Angelwriter responded to a discussion called Interracial Romance Novels in reading. 2 weeks ago
I've never read the article and I rarely read romance, so I had no idea there was any difficulty in getting interracial romances published - or even that people were trying. Did the author of the blog mention any comments the publishers gave that talked about the racial angle of the book(s) they turned down?
I have seen the movie about the Lovings. It was on TNT awhile back, I think. Very g... |
| Angelwriter responded to a discussion called Do you know your Shakespeare? in reading. 4 days ago
I was an English major in college, so I read my share of Shakespeare. Macbeth, Othello, King Lear, The Tempest, and a few others. Strangely enough, never Hamlet or Romeo and Juliet, although I tried reading the last one on my own, but never got through it. I'm not a big Shakespeare fan, but out of his plays I liked King Lear the best. I also like the poem that starts: "When in disgrace with for... |

| Angelwriter responded to a discussion called Why aren't there more pets on TV shows? in watching television. 3 days ago
My guess is, it has partly to do with there not being a lot of family sitcoms these days. There's not much that a pet can do in a dramatic story. They wouldn't be part of the plot of any episode, so they'd end up just being ignored, and then people would wonder what happened to the pet. With a family sitcom (I mean one that shows a single family's life at home) you can have cute pet moments and... |
| Angelwriter responded to a discussion called Has Anyone here Seen On the Beach? in watching movies. 4 days ago
Yes, I have seen it. I have it on DVD. It didn't make me think about nuclear war in general or in real life. I was more concerned with what was happening to those fictional characters. It's a very sad, disturbing movie, but it's also one of my favorites. |
| Angelwriter commented in a discussion called Tipping is Dumb in debating. 3 days ago
But, I think the point the person was making was that waitresses/waiters should get paid better by their employers. The person even said they do tip. But, why have it set up so people have to rely on tips? Shouldn't their employers pay them better wages? |
