It's time to start saving money instead of feeling like I need to spend it when I really don't have it to begin with. I am going to begin with getting all my reading materials from the library or most of them anyway.

mrsbele - it isn't that hard. Really. All you have to do is look at what you are spending your money on. Make decisions as to do i really need that or do I just want it. I write a blog about saving money tips. I had to learn them out of necessity while working full time for low wage and supporting 2 kids and a half the time unemployed husband. Back then I did it out of necessity - I had to make ends meet. Now, i do it to save for retirement .. okay I do spend some on my grand kids, but most got to savings. It is really amazing how many places and ways there are to save money or stretch it, that people just dont' think about. I have one blog title "you got money, you just dont' know it" - kind of tells the whole story. My Blog is called Coffee Break Whatever Save Money and the link is in my profile. These ways work and I am living proof. My kids didn't have the most up and coming fads, but they had what they needed and alot of what they wanted. I myself did without so they could have but it was my pleasure to do without for my kids to have. We evne had a few thrift store christmas's...only to find out years later that that was one of my daughters best christmas memories!! IT also starts with things like coffee - if you get a Starbuck's coffee every day, you think, oh, it's only $3.75 today. i can afford to treat myself. Well, $3.75 a day times 365 days a year is $1,386 a year! I can think of alot more things I would rather do with $1,386 than to dwindle it away daily on a cup of coffee!

Sorry I double posted! I didn't see I had already responded to this discussion. I just get so energetic when I talk about saving money and trying to help others learn what it took me life to figure out!

Use it up, Wear it out, Make do, Or do with out. I try to use every thing up until it is gone. I wear my clothes until they are not good to wear in public then I use them to clean the house in or do yard work. I am frugal because I choose to and so it never feels like I am depriving my self.

mrsjbelle - I have been 'saving money' for years - just to make ends met. I learned a ton of ways to stretch that dollar till George Washington grins! My blog is called Coffee Break Whatever Save Money (link in my profile) and there is lots of topices and ideas and things that I did to save money and raise 2 kids on a limited budget and they worked for me (the ideas worked for me, not my kids!!LOL!) It isn't that hard, especially if you have no choice, but even if you have some choice, why not save when you can? There are so many ways you can save money that you don't even realize you are doing. Ways to see how much money you are wasting and didn't know it. Take a look. YOu'll find something to help you. I did all these things, still do to a point, its justnowt he kids are grown and gone so some don't apply but they use were handy to use when they were around! Good luck. I isn't very hard, just common sense and the need/want to save money or just not waste so much!
