Mother Nature hates me! HAHAHA! Not really. I love Mother nature. Anyhow Sunday the wife & I drove out at noon to go to the casino overnight. Wouldn't you know it there was a major storm predicted that day. But that's life as we had plans and weren't going to change them. It had rained then snowed then got very windy at the time we left. A 40 minute drive took nearly 1 & 1/2 hours due to terrible driving conditions with icy roads and the blowing snow causing very bad visibility. Saw quite a few vehicles slid out in ditches etc. Now once at the casino I could care less what the weather was like. Well it appears it snowed more overnight at home & was windy as hell again. We got about 3 or 4 more inches of snow. Then it had blown all over. So when I got home after dropping the wife off at work I was greeted by a driveway coated fully with a lot of snow. The wind had cause drifts as deep as 3 feet in my drive. So instead of relaxing when I got home I had to get out the snowblower and work my tail off. But I love the fresh snow. It's very beautiful and it's definitely going to be a verey white Christmas here in Minnesota. Any weather surprises in your neck of the country by any chance? Please share it here with us members/friends. Thanks all. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We had surprises for the last two weeks. We had rain, then the temperature dropped, turning it all to ice, which took out the trees, and the power lines near them, and some power poles. I understand that two thirds of the customers of our utility lost power. The entire town of Canton was out of power, that is where I work. We began to get back in shape from that and it snowed. We had some nice weather after that, then last Friday we had whiteout conditions all day. It is melty and sunny today, more snow predicted the next five days. It is winter, but this is more than we have had in the last few years. Have a Merry Christmas.

Piled Snow - At the edge of my garage.
Yeah we had the rain then ice then sleet then snow all Saturday evening. My son-in-law picked the wife up from her work as he was close by from his work. So I didn't have to drive in it then. I heard about the downded trees and power outages in a lot of areas too. Just be careful when you're oput in these conditions. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Well, here in Mississippi north (lower Michigan), all of the 8-10 inches of snow from the first storm have melted. We got a slight dusting last night similar to shaking salt on your McDonald fries. So, by my calculations, considering the Al Gore affect (global warming), we shall indeed reach three feet of snow by February 24th, 2009. That is if no other downfalls melt between now and then. I still contest that we have entered the next ice age and it has started in Minnesota. I don't know about Christmas because along with an ornament, the dog chewed up my calendar. And there is no way I am buying another calendar for 2007 just to keep track of the last 8 or 9 days. So as far as I am concerned, the year has ended and right now I am in limbo until I turn on the TV one day and see football games on every channel from 9 am to 11 pm. That is how I will know it is New Years Day. What a genius. So that is the update from Mississippi north. Excuse me, I have to go get in line for my unemployment check to beat the end of the year rush. I tried getting a job as a snow plow driver, but apparently live in the wrong state. Woe is me.

What city? I am from MI originally. I have relatives/friends in Taylor, Dearborn, Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Flat Rock, Farmington Hills, Belleville and other cities. HAHAHA! In 1991 on Halloween day we got 4 feet of snow in a 24 hour period here in Minnesota. The major cities were even closed as there was no traffic at all on the roads. Even the plows couldn't make it out right away. I thought you said the year was over for you? No need to get in line then. HAHAHAHA!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Glad you made it there and back safely considering the road conditions. For here in Southern Indiana it is currently 39 degrees. Two days ago is was 63. So I don't think we will be having a white Christmas, but a cold one.

there were no surprises in my neck of the sunny come monsoon woods. WE didn't get any snow. alas. how sad. But anyway, we got some scattered showers. it was kinda funny cos whilst driving along the expressway, there was huge heavy droplets pelting the windscreen for 20 metres, then suddently it stopped. people crossing the overhead bridge were not carrying umbrellas so it means that it wasn't like the rain just stopped everywhere in that area. it was just raining in ONE SPOT. then before we could recover from that, another cloud seemed to open up before us,and it rained for 10 seconds before we got ahead another few car lengths ahead and it abruptly stopped!!
