Have you ever bought and used a craft calendar?

I bought an origami a day calendar, after the first three months, they became too difficult for me and my husband puts stuff together all day at work, so he didn't really want to help me very often. So that one I didn't do very well with. The next calendar was Kirigami. Folding and then cutting like with snowflakes. I did really well with that. There are some really neat watercolor ones on sale right now. I'm debating whether I should buy that one or not. There is also quilling which I think I could do. Quilt squares a day, I think that would be hard and time consuming every day. Cross stitch, that and the quilting seems like that would take lots of materials, origami, kirigami, quilling and watercolor, I don't think take much besides what has already been provided. So have you ever bought and used any craft calendars? Did it or they work out for you? Which or what one did you use? Did you like it or them?

That is neat, I have never seen them. Do you go to a specialty store to find them or are they at the calendar places at the mall? I am simple, I usually do things like joke-a-day or something mindless.

I've only seen them at Borders, next to the Joke a day ones, but this year Borders book store also has a kiosk in another spot at our Mall that is also from borders and has some. So I guess, yes and yes, calendar kiosk and at Borders. I started out with Joke-a-Day with Jeff Foxworthy. Then I tried origami a day and it didn't work. The next year, I worked with some young people who wanted to start the day doing an arts and crafts type of project each day. It helped them settle down and concentrate, so I tried Kirigami a day and to my surprise, I could do it and help others do it. Take care and thanks for your response.

Each one takes bit of time per day. So you may not want them all. I did buy the watercolor one tonight. I also bought some scrape off pictures to do at Toys R Us. The calendars for crafts are half price at Borders and all kinds of crafts are on sale from a dollar to 3 dollars each at Toys R Us. If I keep trying different crafts, eventually I have to be really good at one, don't I? I'm still finding my craft. Take care

I do something crafty every day, but sometimes I get on a roll... I stockpile supplies so I don't have to worry about a missing 'ingredient'. With those calendars to give me a nudge, I could produce enough gifts, etc. to last me forever... I have found my 'perfect' hobby more times than I can count... different ones fit into different stages of life. I was a great cross stitcher and could crochet like crazy... now my best is cutting and folding paper. I hope to have them all back someday!

I am not good at crafts. I can knit all right, and I can embroider, but I do not think there are knitting and embroidering calenders. I have not seen any craft calenders in the Craft Store here. Most of what they have are cross stitch patterns, making wooden objects like small bird cages, cake decoration stuffs, knitting, embroidery, and quilting patterns and equipment, plus making decorations and picture frames. I have not seen any for calenders The only craft ones to speak of is when you use your own photos to make a calender and you can get them from the internet. It does sound interesting, although I would not be good at it, and I would need plenty of time and lighting to do the work as I have to wear glasses for reading small print.

Do you have a Borders in Canada? That's the book store I saw them at. Your Craft Store sounds really neat. Not sure why, but I don't think of knitting as a craft, but embroidery I do. Quilting I think of more as an art form. As I get older, I have trouble doing things I never had trouble doing before. I have to use a needle treader because I can't really see the eye of a needle. Pictures to make a calendar sounds interesting. Take care

I have about 10 of them all from my cross stitch interests. I haven't actually used them b/c they were bought for the purpose of the patterns but they are fun to look through. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~
