Is anyone looking to lose weight for new year's resoultion or been successful in the past? What is your strategy, or what has worked for you? I am going to start by cutting out sugar and exercising for 30 minutes a day 3 times a week...that's my plan at least ;)

My best tips are to exercise regularly, watch your portion sizes, drink 2 litres of water a day and have a healthy diet. other smaller tips could be drink green tea, drink cranberry juice, clean out your system regularly, treat yourself occasionally but don't overdo it, get someone to keep you accountable. I hope this helps!

I'm not trying to lose weight, but when friends do, I am always after them to avoid artificial sweeteners, which are in my opinion much more harmful to a diet and to overall health than sugar in moderation. Cutting back on sugar is a good idea, but cutting it out entirely is not something people are usually very successful at doing, at least not without substituting worse substances. Sounds like a good goal you have there! Moderate exercise is a very important key to good health, I think.

You are on the right direction my friend. The best method to lose weight is physical exercise coupled with a diet plan. An exercise of 30 minutes a day 3 times a week is a good start. Remember, there are three areas of exercise: warm-up, work-out, and cool-down. 5 minutes is enough for a slow jog, followed by stretching your major muscle groups. After warm-up, you can have varied activities for work-out. Don't forget to have your cool-down period where you spend at least 5 minutes. You can fully stretch your muscles in this period. Of course, have just enough diet. Don't over-eat! That will work for you. Inform me after a month period how's it going. I hope this helps in your new year's resolution work-out!
