Beckinsale not in the 3rd?

I heard they are making a 3rd movie to Underworld but rumors are going around that Kate Beckinsale is not going to be in the movie! I don't know if they're going back in time in the 3rd to look at Victor's and everybody elses life, but I hope the move along in the story. Do you know if this is true?

I think taking us back in time to see Victor's and the other's lives will make a great prequel to the movies and maybe they will be able to move forward with more of them I'm not sure. BUt I think this would be awesome. If they are going back in time maybe Selene isn't in the story yet so maybe that's why she isn't coming back for this one.

Sounds true... which is horrible because I think she's awesome and also scott speedman made the movie too

The third movie will again be written and directed by Len Wiseman, but even more surprising than its existence is the news from MTV that Kate Beckinsale will not be allowed to reprise her role as the vampire Selene in the film. She told them in a recent interview that she's out, even though in the opinion of most she's the best thing about both of the previous movies, and she’s also Len Wiseman’s wife, so you’d think she’d have no problem getting the gig if she wanted it. But Wiseman is taking the franchise in a different, cringe-worthy direction: He’s making a prequel.
