i was in first year high school when i got into reading as a hobby.. the first book i seriously read was gone with the wind 2 and it took me lots of hours..i just stopped for toilet visits and trip to the kitchen for food... so basically, 6 hours nonstop (i was so engrossed with quite a few chapters i failed to notice the time)...The moment i start reading an interesting book, i desperately want to finish it,never wanting to stop. Also, when i was reading the da vinci code i never stopped from page one to the last. I'm not a fast reader and im not very time conscious when reading so i can't remember how much time it took me to finish the book. I just remembered reading it after brunch and finishing it before dinner. While other parents encourage their kids to read, my mother hides the books away from my grasp...it's effect for me was similar to tv addiction for other kids. I don't function well when i read books so i limit buying. But this applies only to fiction books and all other books except textbooks in school..hoho.

I typically only read for a max of 45 mins at a sitting. It's just because I'm so busy that I don't have the time to focus on just reading. I did however take almost a whole day when the last Harry Potter book came out and I read for 4-5 hours all at once. I just couldn't put it down.

10 hours with a couple of bathroom breaks, but I took the book with me and read during some of that, too.
