Valentine'd Day, already?

I went to the store on New Year's Eve, and saw Valentine's Day decorations and candy. Are you kidding me? Then I came home and checked my mail and there was a catalog of Valentine's Day stuff. Seriously? Can we get through New Year's before we start getting ready for a holiday that is still almost 2 months away?

They always put holiday stuff out a couple of months and possibly more before the actual event. I always thought it was to give the people enough time to save for the actual stuff and also if they had to order it online, they would be sure to get what they want. Since many people buy things at the last minute, this is to ensure that the Stores do not run out of the stuff. So considering that in many cases, wages have gone down, this is sensible. The trouble what happens when the preparation for the holiday comes at the same time we still celebrating the previous one.

That is exactly my point. I understand starting early, especially for online and catalog businesses, but let us get through one holiday before bombarding us with the next one. I mean, is January 2nd too late?

I realize it happens all the time, and I'm sure it won't be long before we start seeing St Patrick's day stuff. All I'm saying is, wait until after New Year's Day.

Oh God, I'm just getting over Christmas and New Years, I can't take another holiday already. Give me a break...I'll buy for Valentine's day like the weekend before it. Till then, I'm enjoying the peace and quiet.

That drives me crazy! It's like the holidays are rushed.The next day Valentines day stuff is up. I can't think about buying anything for Valentines day until February.Maybe one day I will take advantage of getting things early when the store puts them out. thanks for posting this.
