How to get a free .com

How do I get a free .com website? I dont want something like freewebs.oeoe.com, but osos.com. My own web name and then .com. Anyone know how

The only way to get a free .com site is to get a subdomain (the thing you hate). Some sites will give you a free .com name...if you pay for hosting (so either way, you're paying). However, if you check out godaddy.com or websitespot.com, you may find out cheap (they even occasionally have sales).

I remember to get a free .com domain, you had to participate in a online forum on a routine basis. But I have forgotten the name of the company, and whether if it still exists. So ended up using a sub domain for my site (pcsourcepoint) on a free host (netfirms)...

Hi there, TLD (Top Level Domains) are not given for free. The cost includes 1 year domain fee or multiples and 1 which is generally around 8-10 US$ per year.
