Has anyone else ever taught their cats tricks? My cat has always been a very smart and independant cat. I found teaching her a few tricks to be very easy. She actually picks up on things and learns tricks faster than my dog did. My cat knows how to:Sit up Sit Shake Hands High five (And low five!) Roll Over Play dead Hit a certain spot with her paw And a few months ago, I even taught her to jump through a hoop! She learned to jump through a hoop within minutes, literally. She figured it out and got tha hang of it after only 3-4 tries. So who else's cat does tricks, and what do they know?:)

I've never thought about teaching my cat tricks before. She has her very own little quirks though, like...going to my friends house when i go out at night, she waits at the top of the road for me to come home, then walks back with me lol bless her nutty socks

Aww thats positively adorable! My cat came from a stray litter of three kittens we took in. When they were younger, and as soon as they figured out how to get out of the box we kept them in for their safety, they would crowd around the door whenever they heard us coming home. It was adorable to see all their little heads peeking out of the curtain and their little paws against the glass. Now my cat just sits in the windown watching as I come in, and then meows obnoxiously until I go say hello to her. x]

ah bless, i always thought dogs were the better pet, before my cat, Mischief, got me. When she was a kitten, she kept following my partner to our house, waiting outside our door. We ended up letting her in because there was fireworks going off, i put notices up the following day. Gave it 2 days, no one claimed her so we kept her. I like to think she chose us.

Yeah I bet. I always love the stories where the pets choose their owners, or somehow find them. With the litter of kittens we found, their mother was struck and killed by a car. We took them in and raised them. They were only a few weeks old. Ive had my kitty ever since. :)

My cat Bambam and his mother Topaz learnt a trick by themselves when i had them some time a go. Topaz would run to the front door, jump and hang on to the door handle, after that BamBam would jump up and hang on Topaz. Their combined weight would be enought for them to open the door. We had to start locking the front door after that, i think either Topaz or Bambam also learnt to sit like us humans. It was so cute seing it when it happened. If we in the family learned them to sit or they did it by themselves i don't remember.
