I know this is silly, but I don't mind not flushing every time to help save water. My problem is the dog likes to drink out of the toilet and the kids don't always remember to put the lid down. I actually just do it in our private bathroom because I don't think guests might not like my ways. I scrub the toilet regularly and I go a lot and it seems so wasteful to flush everytime. Does anyone else do this?

Definitely do! I live with one other person in a two bedroom and we each ahve our own bathroom in our bedroom. I go an awful lot when I'm at home all day and I agree I don't see the need to flush everytime. I'm just mindul that when I have guests they may have to come in my room to use the bathroom, so I try to make sure its flushed. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as your company doesn't catch you. Even though I do it at home, the worst thing when visiting someone besides a dirty house, is to use their restroom and finding a nice surprise in the toilet already!

I try not to let it sit to long becaue then I just have to waste the water I saved by cleaning it. I do run in after my Hubby has used the toilet and not let him flush so I can go. It drives him nuts though.

Half and Full Flush buttons - Picture of a dual flush valve used in toilets, they reduce the amount of water spend in flushing
Lot's of water are wasted flushing the toilet. The dual flushes valves used now can reduce water usage for 67%, so there is no silliness in that.
