She came and ate with me today

My daughter is a senior at the high school where I work. Most of the time, even if we bring our lunch, she will come and get hers and then go down to the coffee shop to eat with her friends. Today, they all came up here to eat. I had fixed a big pot of homemade chili for dinner last night and Lauren and I had brought some of it to eat for our lunch today. When she came upstairs to get a bowl and heat some up, all of her friends came with her and they spread out in chairs and on the floor of my office and we ate and talked and had a good time. What did you do for lunch today?

Yummm, chili sounds good about now. All I did was heat up some left over pasta with tomatoe sauce and cheese for my lunch. And I sat at my desk and continued to work as I ate. I know you really enjoyed the time with your daughter and her friends. Especially at an age when they don't want to be around their parents too much!

I have lots of Lauren's friends that will come and hang out in my office. Lauren loves me working there, because I'm accessible to her almost all the time. But to come and eat lunch is something different. They will ask me to sit with the if I go down to the coffee shop while the seniors are down there.

That is a good relationship. Lots of kids will pretend they do not know their parent if their parent works at their school. My son loved me to volunteer at his school and he also volunteered me to chaperone parties.

I have to be careful about how much cheese I eat. it tends to make my IBS get in turmoil and then I'm sick for a few days. I can eat it in moderation, which really upsets me because I love grilled cheese sandwiches. They were my Dad's favorite too and some of my best memories are of the two of eating one together.

that would be cool. I haven't been able to find any exercises that I can do with my back. this surgery has just killed any chance I have to get back in shape. I even tried plain old walking and I end up with legs swelled as big as tree trunks from lack of circulation.

welll better not enough salt than too much. I got too much in chili a couple of months ago, and tried the throwing the potato thing in....I guess I didn't have enough time to leave it in there because it was really salty even after throwing a potato in to soak up salt.

i think you're trying to say exactly what I feel that it's not about where you spend the time, but that you are getting to spend time with parents and children. I love spending time wiht my kids no matter what the time or place.

I did a mystery shop at a fast food joint today. I have not posted it online yet. I will get reimbursed for my meal and an additional seven dollars. Tonight I had another one, at another location, will make eight dollars and get paid for an ice cream cone, too. In a lot of ways I would rather been you. I love homemade chili. You are the second of my friends that has posted about lunch with their grown kids. It is fun.

We had lunch at home as usual since my husband has early retirement and the only work I do is on the computer. I had leftover curried rice with a sliced hot dog, while my husband had his hot dog on white bread with mustard and relish. We also had some tea, I made Lemon and honey gingseng tea. We have some coca cola and might finish it off tonight.

I am sitting on the couch with the laptop and drinking a cup of dr. pepper. It is the last of the 2 liter bottle that we opened a couple of days ago. I made a gallong of sugar free peach tea for mike and the girls. i can't drink it anymore because of an allergy to artificial sweetner.

that is sweet of you to help with the dishes. Most guests don't feel the need to help cleanup and a lot of hosts don't wish them to. If I have company that I don't see often, I ask them not to do the dishes, so that I will have more time to spend visiting with them.
