Mixed emotions about Daily Summary....

Is this another new thing or am I just now getting it? Today I checked my e-mail and was excited to see that I had 2 new myLot e-mails! I haven't been very active lately so this was pretty cool. Then, one of them was the Daily Summary. That meant I only had "1" post/response. My heart sank :-( Then I went back and read the Daily Summary. WOW, there were some pretty cool discussions listed there and I'll be responding to them. It lists the top discussions of the day from my interests. All but one of them was a good discussion. I wonder how "What kind of pets do you prefer and why?" got top billing in "Dogs" with 3 responses. Musta been a slow dog day??? How do you like the Daily Summary? If there's a way to turn it off, will you? I think I'll keep it for a while and see how it goes...

I haven't had the pleasure of seeing this new feature yet and I did check my email this morning. I might have missed it. I had a bunch of other stuff mixed in with the Mylot stuff. I'll have to check again. It sounds interesting though. A little less hunting to go through. Shalom

I'm still mixed about it... Like today, I responded to one of the discussions on it, but the others were old ones that I had responded to.

I have it set up so anything from myLot goes into it's own folder. That way I can go straight to those if I want to, or save them for later. The e-mail address I use for myLot is for ALL my Internet junk sites so that I can keep my "real" e-mail junk free. I like to be able to see at a glance what kind of e-mail I've gotten, so I have many folders set up.

An update: I have now stopped the daily Mylot log. It was just an added irritation and I can get all that info as soon as I log on anyway. One less e-mail not to read! Shalom

I haven't gotten the daily summary. I wonder if there is a way to turn it on. Does it come to your e-mail box?

I'm sure there's a way to turn it on and off. I guess in your settings or something. It looks kinda neat. A summary of your interests discussions.

I got it today! It just arrived a few minutes ago. I can't wait to take a closer look at it and see what I think.

My partner said she got the daily summary thing in her email and I've never gotten anything, so I guess it has something to do with my settings because I do not recieve any emails from mylot. I have enough mail clogging up my inbox as it is, I don't need any more.

I know a lot of people don't have the e-mail coming in for that reason. I've set up a separate folder for myLot and have a filter for it so that they all go in there. That just makes it easier for me to see what's going on. I kinda like the Daily Summary - so far, we're only on day 2...

Yes, I noticed that in my inbox too! There were some good top discussions yesterday! I wouldn't have seen them, because I generally do good to respond to discussions that are in my inbox from friends. You can respond through the e-mail to be removed or change your preferences if you don't want to receive them anymore.

I've never used the respond through e-mail option - I like to read what everyone else is saying :) I also saw some discussions that I would have otherwise not seen. This might be a good thing!

I usually respond through my e-mail, but will glance over what others may have responded to as well and then will respond to others if I have something to add.

From day one here on mylot I didn't turn on any of the alerts so I don't get any emails from mylot at all. I don't think I would appreciate the Daily Summary because I can find that out for myself when I log on.

I get e-mails when someone posts to my discussion or reply's to my post or sends me a PM. I know some people get all activity from their friends, but that's too much for me. I thought at first that I wouldn't like the Daily Summary, until I read some of the things on there. It's nice and concise so I'll try it out for a while.

I have been on myLot for more than half a year, and today is the first time I have received a Daily Summary email. I guess it is a new feature that myLot administrators have recently implemented. I don't see any harm in receiving such an email, even if it comes everyday. It is probably myLot's way of bringing more awareness of the programme to members by highlighting some interesting discussions, in a way to remind members to log in and participate in the programme, if they are not already doing so. Since I log in practically everyday, the email doesn't have much impact on me.

I try to log in every day too, just to see what's going on. I like having replies to my posts e-mailed to me so I know if there's a converstaion going on right away. The summary has so far listed things that I would be interested in, but not normally find. I'm trying it on for size...

I have not paid much attention to the daily summaries bucause I have been so busy taking care of a friend who had knee surgery on Monday.

I hope your friend is doing better. My husband had 3 knee surgeries (all before I met him) and sometimes he still has problems. His injuries were sports-related.
