Well, when I first saw this discussion I thought that I would wait for my neighbor who is a registered ICU nurse and ask her about this and boy did she laugh. There is only one that could actually damage your brain and that was air pollution and that would be very rare unless you stood on the busiest street in NY and inhaled deeply every day all day for years. What was the funniest was "head covered while sleeping" If that was true, then why do they put caps on new born babies? Gee! where in the world did you get this from? "Working your brain during illness" Now that one makes me laugh. Is this some kind of joke?

OK Now I just had to ask a doctor what he thought about these and he also said they are nonsense.I think the doctor is more apt to know what he is talking about. He also got a good laugh from them.

That's you and your friend ICU NURSE's opinion.

I'm not sure about all of your reasons, but I will add a couple: Lack of exercise. Physical exercise sends fresh oxygen to the brain (and elsewhere). Another is eating healthy, organic if possible, foods that help your body deliver proper nutrients to your brain.

I have a friend whose mom was taking medications while she was pregnant with her(not sure what type of medications). when she was born(based from her mom), she didn't give any signs of abnormalities, it was when she was already studying, she had some problems remembering things even when she was still young.

I do not have to worry, I always eat breakfast, even though it might be just juice, milk and a banana, I do not smoke, I do not over-eat, I hate too much sugar, I can sleep albeit jnot at the same time, I have a wild imagination, and my husband thinks that I talk too much. I cannot do anything about the air pollution here and we need cars to get around in the winter.
