Do you want the good news or the bad news?

First of all, why do people even ask this question?? Second, how do you usually answer? I personally like to hear the bad news first. I feel like if the bad news is realllllly bad, the good news wouldn't even matter. If the bad news is just mildly bad, then the good news will make you feel better about it. I wouldn't want to hear good news first b/c then the bad news would come and just squash the good feeling you had. I also usually assume it's not realllllly bad news b/c if it were people would just tell me and not tease me about it. So what about you??
