Don't you just hate it when people don't pay what they owe you?

A few days ago I was called to do a computer repair - I did a virus & spyware troubleshooting on a desktop - took about 2 hours to fix and then the same guy gives me his laptop if he needed any upgrades done to it. I told him how much it would cost for both repairs and he said when I'm done with the laptop he would pay me. So had his laptop for about a couple of days. He had a shutdown problem in Windows - put a patch did my fix and was done. So I called him and said I was done with the laptop. He said for me to come over - so I did and I emailed him the price for both repairs and he agreed to it, now the day I went over to the laptop and explained to him what I did to fix it and upgrade it I said I need to collect the repair money - he said that he didn't have the money and he said that his wife took his wallet. I wasn't having it, so I said to him that I need to pick up the money later on today and for him to come down. He never showed up and never called. The next day I came over his house and he said the same thing to me that his wife has his wallet and I said to him nicely - that I just fixed his two computers and what he's doing is making my business look bad and that he's not trying to get any freebies. So days passed, no show up and no call - I was so frustrated and angry. And times I've called no one answers and leaving messages I don't get any return. This was the first bad experience of having a customer this year. I've never had this happen to me - what a bad start. And my sister was like if he don't pay for me to take it to court and I was like - I don't have the time or day wanting to take this to sue at court for a $100 repair job? Anyways I already contacted the guy again and told him if he doesn't pay what he owes me I will have to take him to court. Good thing I spoke to my brother in law about this he gave me all the info what to do.

Wow. that is awful. People are something else these days. they all want something for nothing. I hope the rest of your year is better than that. I know how frustrating it can be. I hope you get your money.

Thanks! That's why from now on I'm going to start making business documents to keep track of my customers that have repairs to make sure they sign it before I attempt to repair and make sure they get the final cost.

Your welcome. I don't blame you one bit. I hate it even worse if I have to spend my own money upfront for some and they still don't even pay for my work or the cost of the items it toook to do a job.
