Have you seen the commerical where a couple get dressed up and go to the posh restaurant only to have to go after " dinner" to a convenience store get more food? Wouldn't it been better to eat at a restaurant that you know you like and then go to the poh place for dessert?

I have never seen that. We never eat dessert out...too expensive and I am always too full!

This idea came to me with a little help. I saw Rachel Ray order dessert when she did her show 40 dollars a day.and I had responded to a post a while back that discuss trying new foods. I would rather have a dinner that I like and then go out for dessert than go to the restaurant and not find anything I would like to eat.

That reminds me of when my girls were in French club that included a trip to the twin cities to go to an exclusive French restaurant....when they got home they were both starved! They said they had three choices....both had a beef entree which was one slice of beef laid on a plate with three little aspargus next to it. The salad was tiny and the dessert though wonderful was barely enough to top off the tiny lunch they had....yes...going for a meal at a place you truly like then finishing it off with a wonderful dessert would be more like it. Plus not quite as expensive. Some of those places are overrated.
