My daughter is going to be going to college next year and she is going to major in journalism, she is ultimately going to write a novel, too. She has already got one all planned out and stuff. That seems like a good idea to plan it out. She has notebooks of stuff , like characters, meanings of words, etc.

It is often recommended to keep a notebook with you at all times. Write down everything you see, anything that catches your eye or your ears. Then when you go to write the actual novel, you can go through all the notebooks and use the bits and pieces to create more realistic characters, dialog and actions. Tink
