Wishing your life away...

My mom always warns me not to wish my life away. If it's Monday and I say I can't wait til Friday at 5 when work is over, she says I'm wishing my life away. I think I'm finally starting to understand this! My life has been flying by the past few years since I got engaged, then married, so lately I've been trying to enjoy as much as I can.
If I'm having a long day at work, I try not to focus too much on the clock! I've found now that if I keep myself busy as I can, the day goes by faster and when I finally get home I'm able to enjoy the evening when I get home and not rush it. If i try to rush the work day by constantly looking at the clock and wishing it was 5, I end up going home exhausted (b/c the day feels like forever) and not really enjoying my night as much.
In the end, I try to plan fun things to do on various days of the week instead of saving it all for the weekend. That way I'm not spending all week at work wishing for the weekend. By making my weeknights more enjoyable, I think I'm able to enjoy each week even more.
So are you wishing your life away??

I don't know if it's "wishing" my life away as you put it. With me, I'm sort of the opposite, time whizzes by me all too fast. They say as you get older that time goes faster, including the years, well if this is so, I've been "old" since the age of nine. I think a lot has to do with the fact that I'm involved and interested in TOO many things and need about 60 hours in a day. I'm primarily a photographer, but also artist, writer, dabbled into music (used to play guitar). So like I said I'm the opposite...I "wish" time would slow down...LOL so I could get everything done I want to get done each day. The only time maybe I "wish" time would go faster is when I'm having one of my "out of kilter" kind of days..or what I call "zombie" days...you know the kind, the days, where even though you slept well you're just tired and out of it and have no energy, so thinking gee, how long before I can go to bed again..hehee
