Favorite Browser?

Just out of curiosity, which browser do you use when surfing the Internet? Do you use more than one browser? If so, do you have a favorite? My personal favorite is Firefox. It seems to be faster than IE. And since it's not the biggest one on the block, it's not as big a target to hackers and virus writers. Plus, when it's attacked, Mozilla seems to have a patch up fairly quickly. On the other hand, some websites are IE compatible only (my company's corporate website, for example), so I do use IE as well. I have another browser that is, or seems to be, totally compatible with IE, but is smaller and a bit faster, and that is the Avant browser. I like it, but it's not updated that often, and I'm not sure how fast they could get a patch out if it was attacked. So, I guess my favorite browser right now is Mozilla's Firefox. How about you?

Hi gantwick, I would like to ask you a question, I am interested in downloading FireFox but I would like to know - if you have Internet Explorer 7 and FireFox both on your computer how can you switch from one to the other? If your working with FireFox and for some reason you needed to switch back to Internet Explorer is this possible. Thanks.

I have both running right now. Switching between the two is not a problem. Essentially, it's like running two programs at the same time.

As far as switching from one to the other, it's the same as if you were running a word processing program and a spreadsheet at the same time. You can switch between the two browsers just as you can switch between the two programs.

I often use Mozilla Firefox. I don't know if I use it because I like it. Or if I use it because it has become habit. I do like the warnings that firefox uses. That is one good point. IE doesn't highlight a problem. I do use IE for the sites that say only compatible with it. There are alot of those out there.

Yeah, there are a lot of IE-only sites out there. My company's intranet being one. I also sometimes use Avant, which is fast and IE compatible.

I use Opera and Firefox. I have not had any experience with the new IE, however, in the past I had had some security issues with that browser regarding too much spyware, etc., so I switched to Opera and Firefox, and both have been great for me. When I design a website, however, I test it out in ALL browsers to make double sure it will display well for everyone.

web browsers - Firefox and internet explorer
Hi gantwick, I use internet explore7 and fire fox . both of these browsers are very useful to me. infact firefox 2.01 is much faster than IE. Even its speed doesnot effected by the downlod process and tabbed window is very easy to use.

my family and i ONLY use firefox. IE is to buggy, and the lack of security is just plain pathetic. I think a lot of website developers, myself included, are starting to get away from being only IE compatible, in fact...many are startgin to adhere to the new w3c guidelines for there html code. sadly, ie6 and 7 don't adhere to thoese standards as well as firefox or opera or even safri do....thats there loss ~j

I like internet explorer. I tried firefox for political reasons, but it isn't as suited to my disability as I.E. is.

I like Firefox since it renders my pages well. I also like it because it has add-ons that I can use to my advantage. I also believe that Firefox is the best web browser out there in terms of security.

I've tried firefox too. But like you, i've been having compatibility issues. So I just regularly use IE despite the downlines and all. Alot of my friends recommended Firefox. I guess most of the sites they view are mozilla compatible, unlike me who always stumbles into an IE compatible site

My favorite browser is firfox because it is the fastest, has a lot of features, does not occupy much. Explorer I do not like at all because it is slow and lacks many things. Other excellent browsers are maxtohn and work.
