I have been wondering if troublemakers deserve any tolearance in the workplace. We have been ignoring that person, tolerating him, at times turning a blind eye to his troublemaking tactics with colleagues. Are we doing right in toleraing this person, or should we just gang up and give him good. We feel sorry for his family and take his troublemaking for their sake. But there is a limit and I feel at times to put ourselves before his family. After all we too are human.

Based on my experience I've had quite a number of encounters with trouble makers in the workplace. You know, the usual crab that wants to go up the ladder and those who always thinks he/she is better than the others. I've had the chance to actually encounter one a few months back. Just like most will do, I gave maximum tolerance but then, that person went to be a very disrespectful person, I had to fire that person immediately. It does affect other co-workers and the business in general. I say, deal with it first, if that person doesn't cooperate, then we must do what we have to do. :)

i think you should report that person to your management. if he's always creating trouble in your office then he is not being productive at all. that kind of people doesn't deserve any tolerance because he isn't helping at all. i think you should make a report on him and let your other colleagues signed it too as proof that you are not the only one that is bothered by him.

Amen to that. I cannot stand troublemakers at all anyway. That is why I am working from home from all the trouble in the workplace that I have seen over the years. I left because nothing was ever done to the troublemakers and they made my life miserable. They shouldn't make trouble for others.
