The spiralling cost of tickets to watch movies in theatres leaves me gasping. Here tickets cost around 250 bucks each, so if I want to watch a movie with my family, means 1000 bucks down + eatables and conveyance. It has become very difficult for middle class people to watch movies in theatres, so we do what is next best and watch it on DVDs.I know the fun of watching movies in theatres is different but then running the house is more important. Is it the same scenerio in your countries too ?

What country do you live in and what currency do you use? Here in the part of the US where I live, tickets are about $7.50 for a night show and $5.50 for a matinee. I think a lg popcorn/drink combo is maybe $10.

the price of everything is going up nowadays. and that includes movie tickets. i don't know how much is the value of your 250 bucks here in our country but our movie tickets would cost from $3 to almost $10. its getting a little expensive but the $3 movie is already okay, with good sounds and good picture. i only watch movies that are best to watch in big screen, like action and adventure movies, e.g. Die Hard, Sweeny Todd, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, etc. we watch drama and love story movies in dvd. ^__^

Wow. That is very expensive. Our tickets in the United States are about $10.00 each. We do not go to the movies much though. We rent DVD's every month and they are delivered right to our door for only $18.00 per month and no late fees.

yes, I agree with you. the ticket is costly, in China, it is 30RMB,it is difficult for me, a middle class. If I went to watch a movie with my girlfriend, I have to pay more 60RMB, because we need some food, it is over half of my day-income.
