I believe there already is child support insurance and it is called birth control. It is irresponsible parents that are not willing to look after their children. And it is very hard as well as costly to hunt those people down to make them do what should be a regular everyday experience. I understand being left alone to raise children, but if you are not in a position to be able to do exactly that then I would advise that having children be put on hold until you are in a position to care for and raise children on their own. I know this is not the answer you are looking for but it is just my opinion, and you are free to take it or not

Overall you had a good comment on this question, but one thing that you said doesn't stand to reason. You said to wait until you are in a position to take care of them on your own, no one should ever be in a position to take care of them on their own, because it should be both parents responsibility to raise these kids. Money isn't everything. Sometimes a child just needs to know you care.

I agree with you is is the responsibility of both parents, but I bet any money you know of single parents who are really struggling to keep their all together together. I understand how difficult this is because my daughter is a single parent and while my granddaughter never lacks love as she is our treasure it is real tough on her mom trying desperately to be two parents as well as provider for her. I admire her and wouldn't wish her position on any one as there must be days that are filled with despair because she is a single parent, but I am so glad she did choose to go through with her pregnancy, So yes my post is full of things that don't make sense and I admit that,

That is an interesting theory. It is difficul to be on the recieving (or rather non-revieving end) of child support. It is nearly impossible to know which parent is going to become neglectful in their child support duties before the situation arises. Some wonderful parents become deadbeats the second a divorce is final.

that's an interesting idea, but how would it work?
