My daughter just purchased a new digital camera. She loves it! She got two lenses with it and took it to a baseketball game on Saturday. The shots she got were amazing! She's planning to major in Graphic Design in college next year and minor in photography. Does anyone else have a Canon Digital Rebel XTi? Is there anything she should look out for or worry about? She's only had it a week and loves it so far.

Basketball player in action - This photo was taken with a Canon Digital Rebel using a canon 50mm f1.8 lens and then cropping the photo.
I have a Canon Rebel and love it. I take the sports photos for the local weekly paper. I would suggest that she get a canon 50mm f1.8 lens. It is priced under $100 and is a great lens for low light shots. I have taken some excellent action shots with that lens. She can buy a better lens when she has enough money. This year I purchased a F2.8 28-70MM Zoom lense($600. The lens that came with the kit are good but she will need to save to buy some fast lens. I would suggest that she consider Sigma or Tameron lens as tehy are excellent lens and are not as expensive as the pro quality Canon lens. Wish your daughter good luck with college and her career. It would be nice to see some of her work.

Thanks! She actually got two lenses with it. She got a Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 24-85mm and a Telephoto EF 75-300mm. They are both glass lenses. She took some amazing shots of a basketball game on Saturday! I couldn't believe how clear they were.
