Just finished work and I am knackered. Sometimes when I get home from work I cannot seem to put my feet up and relax. For example today, I get home chat to the kids about their day, then I go and do the dishes and wash clothes and start preparing dinner. It is not untill about 7pm at night that I start to sit down and relax. It your day similar to this? Or do you relax first when you get home and then do things around the house later on?

Well,it does vary when you're single and when one's married but it solely is up to you on what would you like to do when you get home after work. Personally, I always make it a point to put my feet up (cos my feet and legs is the most abused part at work) for like 15 minutes, take a deep breath, nap or sometimes I watch tv while resting then I hit the bathroom. My married friends on the other hand have similar situations as you. They actually rush home immediately cos they wanna chat with their kids on how their day was. Just a tip for you, how about if you chat with the kids while you're relaxing making them feel more relaxed too?I mean, just take things slow. Dishes and dinner can wait. It's not bad to shed at least 30 minutes for you to relax. :)

Thanks for your tip, I really do need to learn to relax more and not stress so much. I am glad you kick back and make time for yourself, that is awesome. It's all one big juggling act, I need to keep practicing lol. Thanks for your great response.

When I get home, the first thing that I usually do is jump on my bed and I'll try to see if I could still move to take a cup of coffee. When I still have some strength left to move, I'll simply take a rest by watching a television.

Yeah some days are like that, lol. Hopefully the caffeine kicks in and gives you enough energy to last the day. Enjoy the rest of your day.

for some reason I start to clean up, especially the dishes and laundry. When I am exhausted from that than I finally put up my feet and relax. Then I can't get up anymore.

You sound like me, lol, we need to learn how to relax more and not wear ourselves out. But I can't seem to relax untill most things around house are done. Put your feet up, thanks for your response.

The first thing that I would do right after I got off from my car is to play with my 9-month-old baby son. He would always be waiting and he seems to remember the time that I will be at home. It is a very good way for me to relax myself after a long day at work.

What a great way to end a hard days work, enjoy those moments. They fly so quickly. I am about to have my third baby. Can't wait to play babies again. Thanks for your response.

I'm always worn out when I get home from work. I stare at a computer all day at work, so it's really funny because what I usually end up doing as soon as I get home from work and get up to my room is get on my personal computer and start checking my mail and myLot. I also do these things at work on breaks and such. So I guess sometimes I spend my time doing the same thing I've been doing all day. My eyes probably get so worn out because the majority of each day I spend staring at a computer monitor! (LOL) I still live at home with my family and don't and a husband or kids (yet - lol), so I take care of myself and all the meals are cooked for me. I usually don't have to help out with chores much since I'm a pretty organized and clean person with my stuff, and I also shuttle my siblings around here and there, pick up fast food for dinner sometimes, and live a pretty busy life. So...I can usually just do my own thing and my family just understands that that's the way it goes with me! I'm usually in my own little world. That's how I spend my evenings. Of course, I'll also get online and chat with my boyfriend. We used to call each on the cell phone each night, but now we've resorted to using the webcam, which I purchased one for myself just last weekend. I'm so glad I did because it's almost like talking to him in person. This probably sounds pathetic, but he lives an hour away, so I only see him a couple times a month on the weekend. It could be worse! I like to try to relax after work each day, but sometimes I don't get home until late because of all the errands I have to run. Life never gets any less busy, that's for sure!

Thanks for your comment and your encouragement about my communication habits with my boyfriend. (LOL) I know what you mean about bills coming in the "snail mail" method mostly; however, a lot of my bills come through my e-mail because I chose to go paperless! So checking my e-mail has become a painful necessity. (LOL) Your discussion really helped me to analyze what I'm spending all my time doing, which is really funny because I feel like I get so much done doing not much of anything and sitting in one place the entire time! I bought my home computer back in October (2007) and I'm starting to think that if I hadn't gotten it (and if my family hadn't subscribed to DSL Internet back in July), I would've gotten so much more done! Of course, I enjoy my online life...which is really not having much of a life at all. My boyfriend is my cover-up! (LOL) Just kidding. When it all boils down to it, I don't know what I would do without my online life and all of the friends I've made, especially here on myLot. THanks again for your comment and keep up the good work, my friend!

I think a lot of people seem to go on their computers when they get home. Seems like a habit for us to check our mail. It is funny never like to check the mail box as much as I like to check emails. Probably because all the mail box has is bills, lol. Enjoy the freedom of living at home with your family. I don't think it is pathetic that you talk to your bf on webcam each day, good way of communication, it would be hard having long distance relationship. Thanks for your reply.

Nothing like a good coffee or tea to relax you. I start off with a tea in the morning, to get me going. I also end with a cup of tea at night to relax me. Enjoy your day, thanks for your response.

Once I get home I login mylot, I find lots of fun to do some reading here. I then type and post a couple of responses. Later I go to see the lovely plants in the garden and do some watering and weeding. I enjoy looking at the blooming flowers and the growing fruits and plants. I feel relaxed and refreshed to spend about half an hour at the garden. The rest of the time I am busy with the house chores and watching tv.

well i dont work now but when i did I usually got on the net right away and checked my mail. Then I would do laundry for a bit or do dishes or something. There was one time I had to work late and came home and went straight to bed. That wasnt a good idea. I could not go to sleep! I layed in bed for hours and tossed and turned. Now I know when I do go back to work that I have to relax or something before I go to bed.

I do not work, except myLotting, and writing my novel, so when I am finished that, I either watch Tv, or start supper. When I did work, years ago before the children, I started to make supper, and then I would read, and then I would have supper, clean the dishes, and put them away. I would do the housework and laundry on Saturday mornings. I lived in a one bedroom apartment then. I never did relax. Now I work on the computer, get around and do something else, but I do not have a schedule except that Monday is laundry day.

I find that a little time for myself immediately after a long day goes a long way, and puts me in a better mood while the day winds down.

I'm a single now, so i have more private time. Every day when i finish work and get home, first i need to cook dinner for myself. After dinner, i will clean my room and wash my clothes, then play on the computer or watching Tv till going to bed.

The first thing that I'd like to do when I get off of work is relax for about an hour. After having my relaxation time I like to time a hot shower and think. After my shower I like to have a hot meal, read a little bit, cuddle with my boo and them go to sleep. On the weekends after work I like to get off, go home, relax for about two hours, get dress and go out with my baby. Just to spend time becuas eusually I am sleepy after work during the week.

Well, I am like a princess at my home. I get up in the morning, my mom prepares breakfast for me. I simply get ready and go to office. Once i am back, I freshen up and have my dinner. I sit in front of the computer for a while and then listen to music. Then, I go to bed by 11pm. As simple as that :) However, during weekends, I keep in mind to help my mom with her daily chores. I dont think i will have such a wonderful life too long. Its only until my marriage. Once im married, Im sure, i will have a hectic life with more responsibilities ;)

Wow, I would love to be a princess, lol. Enjoy these times, before you move out of home and get married. But then again maybe your future husband will treat you like a princess too, that would be nice. Thanks for your response, cheers.

When I come home, I like to get undressed. After that, it depends. If I'm making dinner, then I do that. If not, then I just plop right in front of my computer and relax like that. Usually, I don't really relax until I go to sleep.

Classical music always calms me down, even if I am busy with something else. It soothes me and allows me to concentrate much better on whatever I am busy with.
