She's getting low on money? that now she's using her own money to finance her campaign? and is only loaning it? what does that mean? she wants her own campaign to pay her back? She has spent an incredible amount of money campaigning this past year. http://www.onenewsnow.com/Headlines/Default.aspx?id=66593

I just really do not like Hillary. I think she changes her mind too much. I am not sure she knows what she believes.

Hillary has one rock solid core belief to which everything else is subordinate. She wants to be President. Anything else does not matter to her. Hence, she will take any position, say anything, and do anything to achieve her goal.

If Hillary spent 5 million supporting her own campaign then thats how she wanted to spend her money, she don't get paid back...To bad for Hillary is what i say..When i spend money on something i want, i don't get paid back, so why should she?If she loses it "Oh WelL", thats what she chose to do...Shes a nut!

Travelling and propagandra expenses, arranging the incidental expenses of supporters are prohibitively exhorbitant events of late. So if one spends one's own money, one should not think that they are going to recover it once they get elected to the office. It is not only Hillary but any other candidate would have spent that amount of money, outstretching one's own resources. In countries like India, it is the party which foots 75% of the total expenses of a candidate. I suppose this is the order followed in most democractic countries.

That is crazy. It sounds like her campaign could be in trouble.

She probably figures if she gets the nomination she will get a fresh influx of donors so she can recoup her "Whitewater Fund" as I call it. The ironic thing it looks like the Obama camp might raise as much as her 'loan' in one day as his funding has jumped from his good performance on Super Tuesday. I've seen some estimates showing he has even won more delegates than her (not counting Super Delegates which would basically be cheating if the Super Delegates vote against the people).

I think that that should be considered as cheating and not allowed she should have to earn the money like everyone else through donations.

You accounted campaign cost of Hillary ! But what about Obama and others? They are spending more or less like this ! I am a fan of Hillary for her work for poor people through NGO and I would happy if Hillary can win, though I am in doubt whether she can win with Obama !

It is a sign the 'big money' is getting tired of the Clintons. We can hope this is a sign of things to come as more people get tired of them.

She has enough personal money to loan money to her campaign. Obama has been apparently getting more donations. But she is not the only one running out of money. McCain is running on the proverbial shoestring and Romney also is using millions of his own money to fund his run of the nomination. And to think that this money is all for just the nominations, not the real race. $$$$$can you see dollars fly?

Hillary isn't the first candidate to do that this year; Romney has been doing the same for quite some time and if I understood correctly it was for a heck of a lot more than five million. They use the word "loan" because campaign expenses must be reported and this way it can be replace with donations if and when they come in. They've all spent a great deal of money campaigning this year, it's certainly not just Hillary. It's sad politics has to be all about money but unfortunately that's the system we're stuck with right now. Annie

Does make one wonder if she expects payment back doesn't it? I never could understand why it takes so much money to back a campaign. Makes one wonder if they can go through money backing a campaign then how will they be able to handle money wisely in office!

Yes, she can repay herself with campaign contributions whenever they are available. If she fails to win the nomination, she can use donations given for her next Senate campaign. Everyone spends an incredible amount of money; estimates are as high as 500 mil. before the conventions and then they'll get serious about spending as the message has to be national and it will not be possible for the candidates to be in all places as they have been able to do to some extent during the primaries.
