The Little Doggie Hurt My Feelings

I was waiting for the bus today and a lady was walking her dog. As soon as I saw him, I smiled and cooed like I do with all cute little dogs. But, when I did, this dog stopped, looked up at me and said ruff. In the same goofy voice, I said, don't be barking at me. They went on to the corner. The owner was talking on her cell phone. Then she made an abrupt turn around at the corner and when she passed back by she was still on her phone, but she said, it's not you, he does that every day to whoever is sitting at this bench. It made me feel better and they went on back home. I guess that little silly dog has some kind of attachment to the bench and I was on his territory and he was aimming to let me know that I was trespassing. Well, all I can say is that delusional dogs are cute too, LOL. I looked for his name, but there was none on the bench, so I didn't budge.

Hi Rosie, cute story. Funny how animals are so human like sometimes. We get pretty territorial also. We even growl and ruff when someone trespasses into our space. I read and sense the humor you saw in the incidence. I admire people who go through their day and can relate to us, joy, comedy and a sense of belonging to the world we live in. It just makes this all the more livable for all of us.

Rozie I forgot to tell you that if Petie walked by you he would be trying to get in your lap he would love his Auntie Rozie. He barks at the neighbors cats, the birds and the wind but not at his Auntie Rozie.

Oh what a precious story. I absolutely love animals, especially cats and dogs. I really feel that they understand more than what we give them credit. Perhaps that little 'ruff' is his way of saying 'hello' to whomever is on the bench! I do know that dogs and cats can get into such habits and routines that it bothers them when the routine changes. Thanks for sharing the cute story!

Bothered, that is the perfect word to describe how he looked at me. I am sure that he has lived here longer than my three years and if that is his way of rolling out the red carpet, I better walk looking down from now on, LOL.

That's so cute! That little doggie may be delusional but I'll bet as far as he's concerned his name is on that bench! Maybe you'll see him again and he'll get used to you being on his bench? Annie

Maybe you where in his way of so he could not pee on his favorite spot. Some dogs are like humans they do not the color of the funiture. hahaha no matter how cute they look. My friend and I was the cutest little black dog in a car today. It is not hot enough to be a danger for dogs yet here. Oh his color his name same EL Nigra JR. Meaning Black in spanish. I do not know if I am spelling it correctly. The dog was a terrior mix he looked about 4 to 6 pounds. When he waged his tail his whole body moved. He was cute. I wanted to get my hands on him and cutle him.

That is an adorable story! It's nice that the owner gave you the explanation. My feelings would have been hurt, too. I love dogs and figure they ought to just love me back, but I guess I'll have to consider their feelings as well as their territories from now on!
