Has anyone read this series? I picked up one of the books by chance at the library and am so glad I did. It's set in the early 1900's and is about a young woman who becomes the apprentice of Sherlock Holmes. I love mysteries and I really like these because they are so innocent. No foul language or raunchy material. I think it's so great when a book can be so captivating without those things.

This is one of my favorite series. I started reading them because Sherlock Holmes is one of my favorite characters in literature. I really do prefer these books to the original Conan Doyle stories. Mary Russell is a great character and I believe her interactions with Holmes. My favorite books are The Beekeeper's Apprentice (the first one) and O, Jerusalem.
