This is scary, I had this done to my son, about 5 years ago. They never told us about any risks like that. They also did not tell us that it was not approved. They shoot botox into tight muscles to loosen them up. Here is the link, http://www.cnn. com/2008/ HEALTH/02/ 08/botox. warning.ap/ index.html? eref=yahoo Do you think that they should be able to continue to do this? What are your thoughts?

I am not sure why the link did not work, sorry. On the comment before you is the right link. They give it to kids, with Cerebral Palsy, to reduce muscle tone, because they have to much. It paralyzes the muscle a little for some relief, and to make them more mobile.

Botox is made of very bad poison. It should never be approved to give for children. How it happen and who was recommended it for you?

Our orthopedist did, he has Cerebral Palsy and it was to limber him up because he was too stiff. I am glad nothing happened. It was very painful to have it done, they stuck him with like 20 needles is all his tight muscles. Can you imagine having a charlie horse and people sticking needles into the middle of the muscle. It horrified us and him, and we never repeated it. They did not even numb him, and I was furious when I found out what they were doing.

I would think since they have posted this that there are less children they are subjecting to something like this. I have heard many warnings about even a lot of adults they saying this is not safe for, so unless they could prove otherwise, this is not anything I would consider. Hope it has never been an issue.

Was this the correct article? No, I don't think children should be used as guinea pigs for invasive procedures. When we look at the history of medicine there are many sad stories. One of the most tragic is the biography of Elizabeth Kenny who could have improved the lives of so many more children had the stern patriarchs of medicine forced their horrible orthodoxy upon families, and gagged her at every turn.

The botox is good for tight muscle for a relaxation effect. I think, the over dosage of this, it could lead to adverse effects to the body.

We have since done this again when my son had surgery. It worked very well, when they do it with this doctor, they give them something to make them very groggy. It makes his legs muscles relax.
