How much time do you spend at the computer?

Whenever I come home from somewhere I turn on the computer at first, then I do the usual things. In general the computer is always on when I'm at home but I'm not always working with it. Though it's quite easy: If I need some advice or help I just ask google. And I can easily talk to my friends via ICQ, MSN or some more or less senseful community site. Am I an addict? I don't think so. Computers and internet have become the modern way of communication and sometimes I'm fed up with it. Then I miss it that people prefer writing stuff on the internet than just calling me or coming over for a cup of tea. But it's so much easier. What do you think? How much time do you spend at the computer? Is this normal?

I use my computer almost everyday since I am studying Medical transcription. That would take me at least 4 hours. Then maybe about another 5 hours on the internet, this is because I have blogs and some accounts to update.

I am on my computer a lot. My hubby says way too much. I have now limited myself to just working on the computer when my husband isn't at home. I don't have a job outside of the home so I have all day to work on the computer. But in the evenings I would get so involved with the computer that I was ignoring my husband and it was causing a lot of problems for us. I didn't know this till he finally told me about a year after I started working on the computer, which was just very recently. So now when he comes home from work I give him all my attention and don't work on the computer. When he goes to bed I now lay down with him till he falls asleep and then if I'm not tired I get up and work on the computer, which is most of the time. He goes to bed at 9pm because he gets up at 5am so I am usually not tired yet. So to answer your question I am usually on the computer about 8 hours a day now, but I used to be on it about 15 hours a day before. I agree with him that, that is way too much time and that I was obsessed with the computer. I actually feel better now that I am not on it so much.

I learned a long time ago not to answer this question. Computer nuts think I am fine, and everyone else thinks I'm an addict. I don't want to classified as a geek and I don't want to be classified as a social hermit because I sit at my puter so long. Some days are longer than others. It really depends on how much pain I'm in. The bigger the pain, the longer I'll sit.

I spend too much time at the computer. I sell online, and I do a lot of blogging at paid sites. I like to play games online. And, I get bogged down with e-mail. Yes, the computer is so much easier. I don't really know if it is normal, but this is how it is in this day and age. I just love to read, so I could spend a lot of time online.

I open my computer first thing in the morning and it is the last thing I close/switch off before I go to bed at night. I am not active on it every minute of the day but it is always available and ready.

I take most of my school classes online so I can be on from 3 to 5 hours a day. I usually take breaks and don't really sit infront of the computer screen for no longer than an hour. Any longer I start to get headaches.

I spend much time in front of the computer. Well, its my job as a programmer. But even when I haven't had this job, I spend a lot of time surfing the net, playing games and using software applications on the computer.

I am a pastor and a freelance writer so I am at my computer for at least 12 hours a day, literally. However I love my job so being at my computer is not a bad thing at all.

I spend most of my time in computers, when i have nothing to do.. i turn it on and play, listen music, watch video and so on. Spending countless time in front of your computer, is normal-i think, Because your enjoying what you are doing, and exploring new things at the same time learning. But remember that computers are our friend, they should not be used in a bad way.

I spend quite a bit of time on the computer. Because a lot of my friends and family live in other states so we chat online. Plus I do the usual surfing. yes I do think it's normal. I think if you spend day and night on it without sleeping then you have a problem. lol I know a few people like that. Have a great Sunday.

Well, when my husband is home and not overseas, I generally spend maybe 30 minutes online so that i can check my emails and such each day. With him gone though, it seems like i'm on the computer more than i'm doing anything else....except for taking care of my kids of course. It gets old after a while though...i hate typing sometimes. I like it on here, because I have a variety of what i can type and look at, but there are times that responding to emails or talking with my husband aggravates me because it's like i'm typing the same thing day in and day out. thanks for sharing and God bless

It feels like nowadays that is all I am doing. Surfing the web, on mylot, checking my e-mail, chatting with people online. I think this is time spent well, rather than watching tv all day long. So during the week when I work, after work I am usually on at least 4 hours a night. The weekend if no plans, almost all day. So yes I am on the internet a lot. But you know, maybe someday when I have a life and a family, it won't be that much.

i'm more or less the same as you. only difference is that if i know my hubby's not gonna be home, then my computer will be on and i'll be doing other stuff and checking at the same time too. i'm not sure i would call myself an addict but would probably admit that i could well be on my way to becoming one. hehehe it's definitely easier on the computer for me too. right now, i'm quite free so i spend most of my free time you could say. i guess it's normal but we had better try and control ourselves. hehe
