Family Activities of St. Maarten

My wife and I are taking our seven and eight year old grandsons on a cruise that will stop for a whole day in St. Maarten. I have learned that the beaches there are European style and I do not think the boys are ready for a clothing optional situation--call me a prude, okay. But I am wondering if any of you know family oriented things to do on the island that would be away form the beaches.
