I wash my hands so much that they are always dry. I have dogs and cats in the house so, I wash my hands before I cook and while I'm cooking and before I eat. I always feel horrible when one of them walks up to me while I'm cooking and makes a sweet little "pet me please" face.

I agree with you, i was talking about it with a few people and everyone had different opinions, people were saying that 40 years ago, if you even touched the dog or cat, it was the norm to wash your hands with soap and repeat this everytime, whereas nowerdays i think that is more relaxed and not as many people do that =]
Thanks for the reply, Chris

I would wash my hands both before eating and after touching any animal so certainly I would wash my hands after touching a pet before eating.
I don't think there is any excuse for a lack of hygiene at all. If you're playing with a pet then obviously you're not going to wash your hands constantly but you should when you have finished if you're then going to eat.

Yes, I usually wash my hands before eating. Not only after touching a pet but for always. I make it sure that my hands are clean before eating.
