My First Day of Work - *so dead now* :P

As some of you know that I have started my first day of work today (it's Monday here). It's a sizable company and I am replacing a lady for her maternity leave working as a Recruiter for the company. So I am on a contract from 3 to 6 months depending on needs. Gosh, I started today and I agree that it's another HELL *laughs*. First, my computer didn't work right and I had to call the IT support team in another city to figure it all out (used the whole morning). Second it was their enormous training materials for the new staff which I have to read and take exams later on. Took one exam today and I failed because I didn't expect the "exam" would be so HARD (which is ridiculous!). Third, I got some handover stuff from the pregnant lady but I still needed to figure out the whole process. So I worked 11.5 hours today and my little brain was about to scream and explode *laughs*. Hopefully I will still remember "something" when I get back tomorrow. Lucky that I could keep telling myself it's just 3-6 months *laughs*. Do you have any memorable first day of work? How did it go? P.S. Since I have been working so many extra hours, I don't think I could spend time here very often, but I sure will try my very best *winks*.

hi wondericequeen! ^__^ wow. that's one heck of a first day. i didn't experience anything like that during my first day at work because everything was made easy for me since i was new and i had to understand everything clearly so they took time explaining things to me. ^__^ but i have experienced a lot of busy days mostly during days when my boss is present. those days would pass by like a storm because there would be a lot of things to do, we would run around, back and forth from one department to another, and its just really stressing! sometimes we wouldn't even get to eat on time because there's just so many things to do but so little time. and the only thing we can't wait to happen is when our boss would finally go home. ^__^;; good luck to your work!

*laughs* I understand what you were saying, it was exactly like my last job! I am getting better settling down with this job figuring things out. I actually start to leave like an hour after office hour, not too bad!

Hello wondericequeen, I am late again *laughs* Well, how's your new working environment? *laughs* Lucky that it will be only for three or six months. But I do believe, wherever you go, the situation is just slightly different. Maybe the working environment is better, but the colleagues are worse than before or maybe the other way round *smiles* As for me, my husband advised me not to resign too soon *laughs* He wants me to work until our business is doing very well. I guess I still need to work for a few more years!

I remember my first day of work once for the ARC when the clients were going by bus to watch break dancing. That would have been fun. Instead, I had to read about policies and procedures of the ARC plus all of the laws for the state and local government plus learn about all the forms. So while everyone was out having fun, I had to cram a book down my brain!

True! Kinda like what I have been doing! The only exception is that I don't see the fun part that I am missing *laughs* (there is no fun part). Anyway, I have 6 more modules for the training to go and that's really rubbish!
