all of us needed someone in our lives to do the dirty work for us at some point. did you feel grateful or did you critisize? lets take plumbers. they truly do the dirty work but most people look down on them and flinch at the high prices they charge for their work. how much money would make it okay for you to open a blocked sewer with raw sewage everywhere? take nurses as well. they dont get paid much. they do much more than the doctors but we dont apreciate them enough! can you think of other occupations where really bad hard work goes unnoticed and without as much as a thank you?

I am eternally grateful to the brave people that take on the "dirty work" and agree that the money should match the work, without reservation or criticism. Garbage collectors and chambermaids are a couple of other areas of thankless dirty work which frequently goes under paid. These are essential services we are talking about. More respect required...

You're right, not many people do appreciate these people. They are often overworked and underpaid. My father always taught me to have respect for these people. He used to say we would miss the sewer workers much quicker than we'd miss the executives.

thats a great saying. more people should take it to heart. my sister is a nurse and she is busy with her masters degree, but that doesnt make her anymore special than the diploma nurses. she gets treated with the same disrespect. and the salary here in south africa is a disgrace. she earned the equavalent of 500 pounds a month. she opted to go out of the country just to earn more but the treatment stays the same.
