I Love You More, No I Hate You More!

What is a stronger emotion love or hate? After reading discussion after discussion on here as well as some things from my past and people I have come to know in my real life I would have to say hate. Hate is deep seated. It is so far below the surface as to be unsusceptible to superficial examination, study, or treatment. (yes I just gave you the definition of deep seated because it proves my point, that I am getting to) We we love we are generally happy. We smile. We laugh. We sometimes cry because of the happiness or because pain has come to someone we love. But love is a happy go lucky carefree emotion. It takes so much more energy to hate. We could drive ourselves mad trying to put an end to past vendettas. We could cause ourselves medical problems by letting hatred overcome our lives. We can almost wither our souls away to next to nothing if we let hate consume us. IMO, hate is certainly a stronger emotion. What do you think?

If hate were stronger, then it wouldn't take so much energy to sustain and so deplete us of energy too. Love is a much stronger emotion, Cyn. It flows freely from us and into us. It sustains itself. It simply is. No effort, no struggle, it remains constant. That is my belief. And, btw, mama loves you.

I think here also you are very much right. i must say you have very good idea about the human emotions. are you anyway associated with psychology? Hate is really much deeper emotion. when people love, they are happy and they tend to do so. But when one is hurt, the hate surfaces up and its deep.

The human mind and the way people think have always interested me but the closest I have come to anything dealing with psychology is reading self help books and watching too many talk shows. I am in constant search of answers to questions most people never take the time to ask. Thank you for your comment.

I completely agree. When you love someone, usually you don't go on and on and on about them when talking to people. However, when someone really gets under your skin, it is so hard to let it go and you just talk about them day after day after day until your friends say SHUT UP!! I think hate and getting some angry has a lot to do with a person not being able to comprehend how another person could be the way they are. I could not comprehend how this person I used to work with could get away with doing nothing and being SOO rude and lazy, so I would just let it consume me! I think that also has to do with what is rational and logical. Logically, that girl should have been fired a dozen times, and when she wasn't we ALL got so fired up. Anything that goes against logic can really get a person angry and in a hateful mood. It's hard to get out of that!

What do you exactly mean by stronger? Coz if what you mean is what dominates the world most, i would still say love, if hate dominates the world, then this world is nothing and not worth living, because of hate, it might be gone a long time ago, a simple hate can cause the world to go extinct.... :) peace out take care and think of love

Hate is by far the strongest most powerful emotion out there. Look at Radical Muslims..they are a perfect example of what hate can do when it is turned into crazy energy and too much time on one's hands. They bring terror on the world in the name of their god but actually it is all in the name of hate..Takes more energy to hate than to love. Very very powerful emotions..both of them.

i think it depends on what kind of person you are. some people kill because of love, and some kill because of hate.

I would have to say that Love is the stronger emotion. Because of the amount of effort needed to sustain it. It takes a lot of work to develop love for someone. But a lot less to hate anyone.
