With all the crap that had been going on here at times and you know what I mean, it's come to my attention that a new member has joined us all but two hours ago as I write this.... Now most times I think many of us welcome a newbie, but this person is really abusing his privilege here. I first noticed him when he responded to two of my discussions, my real lengthy ones about the recall and you are what your eat with one word replies...."good". Curious I checked his profile and looked up the discussions he's replied to...they all have one word response too...either "good" or "hmmmm" no matter what the discussion is about...NOW WHAT KIND OF CRAP IS THAT? So check your discussions and see if you've been plagued by this one-word MyLotter

i assume that the member is not aware of the rules and have not read the fine prints yet. let us give the member the benefit of the doubt. maybe the member just needs some guidance from us oldtimers. it is his/her loss anyway if the member keeps on answering with a one-word-reply, no one would bother correspond with the member and he/she won't recieve anything from mylot.

good to hear from you, denarius. nice of you to acknowledge your shortcomings. You are very welcome here at mylot. mylot is not only for us who has a good command of the english language. plain and simple english will do. you can express yourself in any which way you can , so long everyone can understand what you are trying to say but of course within the bounds of mylot's guidelines. have a good day!

Well whether he's read the rules or not, even in my newbie days I didn't post one word responses all over the place like this one is doing..which could be similar to spamming

Perhaps he is a spammer? Or perhaps he is lonely...whatever the case may be, he is abusing the mylot system.

Oh dear I'm not one bit surprised at this - believe it or not my referrer taught this in an e-book promoting myLot. He is no longer a member of myLot - ha ha ha I'm still here but lucky for me I read the guidelines before I posted anything here. Yep "you can make hundreds a month just typing one or two words"

All you have to do is report him to myLot - that is the same as stealing from the rest of us who give 'quality responses' Now for the DON'Ts http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx "Post the same response to different discussions even if the discussions are related or similar. This type of activity will more than likely harm your reputation rating." "Post "Me Too!" messages; add something of substance to the conversation."

Well he might make hundreds from posting his one word responses but I don't think the rest of us will appreciate his well thought response to us in our discussions..LOL

I got a response similar to that and it got to me so I answered back "And?" just to unnerve them a bit. This person knew better for he/she was here for a while. Is this guy a newbie newbie? Such as under 100 posts? If he is, maybe he needs a little help. Maybe not and is acting like an @$$. I'd have to ask him out right to see what answer he'd give back.

Well for only being here a few hours he has something like near 90 points..well it DOES take a lot of effort to type hmmmm or good doesn't it? LOL Oh, come on, even in my newbie days I didn't just post a one word response of hmmmm or good, or yes, or no

No i haven't started a discussion in a few days! heh So no responses from the one worder. I'm sure SOMEONE will report him sooner or later and he will be beaten with a wet noodle. Maybe he just doesnt' know a lot of english, or maybe he is doing it on purpose, who knows. I say, IGNORE THE PROBLEM AND IT WILL GO AWAY! hehehe. I know that doesn't always work. But.. It's my way ;)

not sure if its the same person...though the very thoughtful and truly enlightening response i got to my posting regard Hamas using childrens shows to teach hate and violence, was a whopping "hmmm..."! to which i gave a negative rating of course. as a newbie i tried to give at least a paragraph in response to everything! if i couldnt come up with at least 4 sentences i just didnt respond at all. hopefully if things work the way mylot says they do, his one-liners...rather one-worders will be noticed and deducted. as the poster of something that gets one-liner responses like that, we dont get deducted do we? i know ive gotten deducted when i responded to a posting that was a one-liner or bad subject matter ( or whatever the reason was) HOPEFULLY loverboy that he thinks he is wont last long with that type of answers, or he will learn quickly and mend his ways!

Thank you BOTH! Thanks to these two posts, I found him! Yeah me! Not bad... at least his discussions started aren't one-worders, as well. That would be quite a discussion, wouldn't it? "Hmmm?" and the responses could be... "Hmmm..."; "Um..."; "Yeah"; "Yep"; "So?" and so on... I wonder how long that would take to get deleted...

it's a matter of attitude!he should show respect to others' discussion. no matter the response is one word, one sentence or as long as an article! we care the honest attitude when one response the discussion not the length of the response. obviously,he didn't show enough respect. That's the point.

This new member maybe just doesn't get it. Whatever the case may be, dear pye -- how does it hurt you? You've got a lot on your plate already -- so my suggestion is that you let it alone. Do you understand I'm coming from the point of view to choose your battles carefully? Heck, if he's one you want to tackle I'll not say another word about it.

I just think this is unfair to the rest of us who give good and perhaps lengthy responses to discussions. No it isn't hurting me, but the poster's one word responses is against the guidelines. Even as a newbie I didn't post one word, yes, no, maybe, hmmmm or good. But then of course the writer in me tends to be long winded...LOL

maybe, he don't know that here in myLot, he should elaborate or explain his answer cuz maybe he didn't read the rules written in myLot; let just tell him about it, then let him read all about answering question...i think we need each other to know how myLot works to earn and besides we are here to make friends, too.

See you're a newbie too and welcome here :) Well maybe he didn't read the rules but that isn't an excuse to leave a one word response of good or hmmm to discussions, particularly very serious discussions that either I've started or my friends started.

I do not have enough discussions for him to bug, I think. I did go look at his profile. He does not interest me at all. I think I may start restricting my friends again. I get spammed as soon as I accept new ones again. How sad. I am here to actually communicate with others and learn new things. I know what I will do if I see him in any of my discussions.

Nah, he doesn't interest me at all either. I've gotten more picky at friends requests too...the killer? When I get a friend request who has zero points....like how are they digging me up for a friend anyway?
@Eskimo (2315)
22 Feb 08
When I started at first, there were a number of people who responded with one or two words, they didn't last long, and either they are new and don't know any better and need some helping hand and encouragement to give a better response, or they are just trying to get as many points as possible with as little work as they can get away with. A one word reply should be given a '-' the first couple of times then reported - One word is not a discussion.

Yes Eskimo,...a one word response does kind of defeat the purpose of a "discussion"

Hi pyewacket, Nice observation........I got curious and check about ten latest discussion that this man had replied and was shocked to see all of them had just one word "hmmmmmmm" This is really strange.....does he know that replying in one word will not help him to earn even single penny , besides what is the point .......I think the best thing is to reply to all his discussions with one word........lol, You know what.....lets not waste our time.....Have a nice day friend.

I feel the answering in one word does not make the discussion lively and interesting. Until and unless we share our experiences and thoughts in the discusisons, our 'one word' reply does not really help the host and other members. I on my part, do not try to give one word answer, if at all I have to reply, I atleast try to write few meaningful and useful lines so as to make the discussion interesting. Good Post!

Yes a one word response adds nothing to a discussion and maybe the person thought he could make a lot of money with posting one word replies, but that isn't how it works here, right?

I saw this guy earlier. I can't remember his username, but I did see a "hmmmm" comment on a discussion. I found this rather strange and now I just found a "hi" comment on another discussion, possibly from someone else . What the heck it going on here? Do you think it is the same person?

I have not seen him responding on my discussion, but read his responses on some of the discussion I subscribe. That one word is "good". I am actually planning of starting a post about it until I read your discussions. I do wonder if mylot do give credits to those kind of responses. I think that person should be banned because he already violates the rules of mylot, not to post unless you have a honest response. In his case, it is very clear that he is just posting to increase the number of his posts. He should be reported to mylot admin.
