Does anyone else think that some of these posts are borderline pointless?

I'm guilty too. I find that a lot of posts that would inspire deep discussions don't get many responses when posts that ask for one word answers or "favorites" get bombarded.

Whats this an intelligent discussion? wait while I insert my hard drive in my head. Ok, I was beginning to think people just post anything and try to make some money, Really, this site doesnt pay enough to just your time on. I joined not for the little bit of money i might make but to stimulate my brain a little. I am also guilty of pointless post, but most people dont want anything that will facilitate thought, their brains are in their ever dwindeling wallets. Anytime someone makes a real post please message me and I will go to it. thank you

That's because most of the people on here now are just here to make as much money as possible and have no interest in any kind of discussion. They are only really interested in taking from myLot and not interested in contributing anything much - or maybe they just don't have the brains to do anything else! Don't get me wrong I don't mind some of the more pointless discussions - everything doesn't have to be about "serious" issues. It's just that you have to wade through all this rubbish now to see anything worth contributing to.

I guess that's my issue; having to bypass all the meaningless stuff to get to something really interesting. I thought you were paid based on the ability of your post to start a discussion. I guess it only means if it generates responses not necessarily the value of the content.

Yes, probally because there is less to think about. I ususally post something on needed advice for not maybe exciting subject but real ordeals. I like to see what others have to say or if there is someone who can think of something I've not thought of. Usually it has to do with my kids like how to break bad habits, or motivating them to do their homework will out yelling things like that. I too have answered pointless discussons but you won't catch me answering a discussion that you know they just made a post to gain controversy. Have a great day!

Yes because some people think they can get more responses in on a days time if they take the easy route...Could alsp be that they don't like to get emotionally involved with mylot and just see it as a money maker..Or that they don't like talking..

You're right! People that want to generate numerous responses tend to jump all over the "one word", "favourite" discussions. Even when I do respond to these discussions, I tend to elaborate because I just can't see how one word can benefit anyone. Thats just my opinion, wat do you tend to do?

If I'm genuinely curious about something, I'll put it out there. Other than that, I'll ignore the questions asking for yes or no responses because they are literally a waste of time. You don't really learn anything and you have to go through the whole "preview discussion", and tagging sequence anyway...

Yes because sometimes people make more with the stupid questions. That is why when I make discuccions I try not to think to hard.
