Child of God !

India

My dear brothers and sisters living in India : There is only one Creator ! He is G--ood ; He is O--rganizer of this Universe ; He is D--estroyer of evil. Therefore He is G O D !! There cannot be too many Creators or else we all will look weird and different from each other. We are all one and belong to one Human Family. We have different talents and ideas which enable us to belong to and contribute to the same single Society in various ways ! My forefathers may be Hindus. That is not the criteria. Today rather than calling myself a Christian I am proud to call myself a 'Child of God' ! When we can embrace the invention of Electricity and so on by our brothers living in Foreign Lands why not the religion brought by them !!

"Why not the religion brought by them?" You make it sound like you're changing your shoes, not changing your entire loyalties and belief system. *shakes her head* I can't understand people taking conversion so casually like that. I don't have anything against changing your religion, but surely it should be taken more seriously than that if you're going to do it!

I like the idea of calling yourself a Child of God rather than a Christian. Too many so called Christians don't follow God or Christ. They don't act like Christ. They don't act very loving toward each other. In fact they actually give Christians a bad name.

I agre that there exists people that call themselves christians but only use it as a front or facade. Still christians are humans, so please dont expect them to not have flaws and fail sometimes. If God wanted to have people that are perfect, then heaven would be quite empty. I myself am a believer of christ, but i have a hard time loving people but thats mostly because i had a rought childhood. I believe that Jesus can help me with alot of that, but i will never be perfect on this earth.

My dear rajiwalker!! I think you really don't know anything about Hinduism, that is why you talk as if you are the only one talking sense. You think that since Hinduism has many Gods, Hindus think that there are many creators! It is understandable coming from you because you really don't seem to have put any thought about the Hindus way of life. If you don't know already, this is the real truth. Hindus believe in just one God that can take any form the devotee finds lovable. And all the different Gods are just manifestations of the different attributes of the Supreme Reality and not different individuals like humans. Just like your mother calls you 'child', your son or daughter 'father' etc., but the person referred to is just one, namely you - the different Gods and Goddesses are different names of the one Supreme Reality from a different perspective. When God creates, he is called Brahma, when he sustains it, he is called Vishnu, and when he destroys, he is called Shiva. This is the basic knowledge. But there are still deeper philosophies ingrained in Hinduism that need to be reverentially learnt if you really want to know Hinduism. You boast of the Electricity invented by our foreign brothers but you do not seem to know the many scientists including Einstein himself who stand reverentially awed by the philosophy of Hinduism. So, I would advise you to just follow your religion to the best of your ability and learn to grasp the goodness in all religions which will the best service you can do for Christ.
