There are two types of person when caught in the rain. The one who waits until it would stop and the one who would make a run for it. I'm always the one who would run. lol. My philosophy is "it's just water, it will just dry up". But people keep saying that I would get sick because of this mentality. So I'm asking, what is in the rain that will make us sick? And are you like me, or the type who waits until the rain stops?

getting cold and damp lowers yer resistances, making you more susceptible to a cold or flu, but theres nothing in the rain per say thatd make you sick. =o) i wont stand outside in a cold freezing rain, thats just uncomfortable, but a summer storm? oh yeah.. warm balmy breezes and a downpour, toss in some thunder to shake the ground and lightning strikes across the sky, and im having a ball dancing in the puddles!

I agree swirlz! It is really frustrating waiting for rain to stop. LOL. I am really a practical person. When i go out, i just put money in my pocket in my left pocket, and cellphone in the right pocket, and i'm ready to go.LOL I always carry small plastic bag or i buy something at the store, so that they give me a plastic bag for my cell phone. silly isn't it? haha

Yes, I agree. What if it only gets harder the more we wait? What if it won't stop? Waiting for something we are not sure of is really frustrating... It's a nice idea to find a plastic cover for the cellphone. I just usually put my cellphone at the innermost part of my bag and hug it while I'm running. hehe.

Hey Swirlz, I am also like you and I love to get wet in rain. Whenever its raining, i wont stop my bike rather, i just continue my driving. And yes, getting wet in rain really makes us feel sick. When it rains, humidity increases in the car and as a result it causes problem.

I'll try to remember that when I'm in a car. But being in a vehicle when raining just feels so good. Or maybe I just enjoy watching others get wet while I don't. hehe. Mean. But I like getting wet too.

it depends. if its just rainshower, i would dash for it. but if its too strong, and the raindrops are so big, i would wait for it to stop. ^__^ i guess the cold brought about by the rain makes us sick. the cold can reach our insides and weaken our immune system. and also if we got wet by the rain and it dried up in our clothes, that can also bring the cold in our insides. ^__^;;

Hehe. I guess it does depend. There are times though that I made a mad dash under a strong rain. If I am already comfortable waiting (like in my college building), I could wait for it to stop. But if I'm still on my way to that building, or anywhere on the way to somewhere, I always run for it. hehe.

if you are tired and you get caught by the rain, i think you can have a cold because rain is cold and your body is tired. i always wait for the rain to stop specially when i dont have any umbrella. it makes my head ache when i get wet by the rain. i dont know if it is just psychological but it makes my head ache when i get wet by the rain.

I guess it's just psychological because I don't get a headache when I get caught in the rain. But you're right. It is not advisable to get wet when the body is tired. In our course, we were advised against taking a bath if we have spent the whole night drawing. I guess this advise is also applicable to rain. I should remember this the next time I run in the rain. Thank you.

Rain is gift of God. We should not run or escape from the rain. A person was running. Other was seeing him running. “Why are you running? …Don’t run as you had told that it is a gift of God”. Other chanted. “I am running, because this sacred gift is being crushed under my feet. Thus I am running away” replied the first.

The people, do not waist there time and want to reach some where as urgent as possible do not wait of stopping the rain. They run in the rain and reach the place as soon as possible where they wish to reach. The people who have no worry of reaching some where well in time do not care to run in the rain. they stay under a shelter and wait for the cease of raining.I am like the people who wait for stop or rain.

I don't really know for sure what it is about being out in ther rain that makes you sick...but I think that it is when the cold wetness hits you and you get soaked or something like that or either stay out in the rain...anyways I usually just put a jacket on and put the hood over my head so I dont get wet..and I stay pretty well healthy

Yes, putting on a jacket with hood can still make you enjoy the rain without getting wet. But most of the time I don't have a jacket with me. Those were days when it just suddenly rained when earlier in the day it was sunny.
