they charge us that much because of their skills...it may look that simple to you but doing it reality is not that easy, they just make them easy for you to see.but as you the a good dentist as the one who makes the job faster than anybody...of course you dont want to open your mouth for 3 hours for only one fillings do you?so he made 30 minutes to lessen the troubles for you.i hope you're getting my point...i myself being a computer technician charges almost the same because of what i know and my expertise where i can finish a problem in 15minutes and charge the same but if an unexperience will do it it would take more 3 hours to complete the process.you are paying for the expertise and not for the time we fix it....god bless!

A dentist is more akin to a tradesman, a plasterer or electrician but the trade on the fear and pain that people are in, like vultures, to charge extortionate fees. all the best urban

i guess it all depends on the dentist itselt on how to charge his clients...i dont think there is a uniformity in terms of service fees for the dentists...

it was just like a businessman who study the craft and pay everything who will teach him and when he is able to do it,he should make some extra charges to cover the expenses he had made when he was just studying the craft...everybody does it except when he is your close friend or relative,im sure you will get a huge discount on every service rendered...

I'm a Canadian who has a winter place in Alamo Texas. I'm about 25 minutes from the border with Mexico. I get all my dentistry work done in a small Mexican town. I get my teeth cleaned for $15.00 US. and a filling is $25.00 US. A crown costs $65.00. The dentist uses white filling, which is better looking than the old black mercury they used to use. My Canadian Dentist still calls me, but I just laugh and tell him, sorry I have no dental problems any more!

Dentist all charge to much! The last time I went to the dentist I had an abcessed tooth. I was in tremondous pain from this, I could hardly eat, could not sleep because of the pain either. The area around my infected tooth was swollen to the size of a large gumball. I went to get it pulled out. Instead of pulling the tooth, the dang dentist only took x-rays and told me to come back in a week to get the tooth pulled! A freaking weak and I was in so much pain that I litterly coudn't see straight! Anyway, he charged me over $80 just for the x-rays alone, then told me that it would cost me another $200 to get the tooth pulled! As I have no dential insurance, I never did get the tooth pulled! I lived in agony on and off for several months untill the tooth finally came out on it's own. Dentist suck!
